Why the heck are we wasting our second best bullpen arm in an 8-0 game?

I think I'd bring in Julio and let him pitch the rest of the game.

Julio is our designated Paul Janish. The only reason he is on the team is for nights like this. In Milwaukee they serve brats, apparently in Minneapolis Manny serves Meatballs. What a horrendous outing. The only thing almost as bad was our defense. McGehee had me longing for Bill Hall even with the automatic 0-fer. Bad defense will really put some stress on this pitching staff if this keeps up.

Dear Doug, please make a trade for Jake Peavey or ANY other competent big league starter and get Mental midget out of this rotation please......forever.

Give me a break, I sure hope this was just a frustration based complaint and not serious. Yeah they hit some balls hard but a few grounders found holes and our defense gave away outs, trying to pin that all on Parra is silly.

It is not just frustration. I want Manny out of the rotation.....tomorrow. He's weak. Yes, the Brewers defense gave up a few outs, but this is exactly where Manny struggles. One bad thing happens in an inning and he doesn't have the mental fortitude to buckle down and get out of the inning. Instead, he gets flustered and the inning spirals out of control and before you know it the Brewers are out of the game. He is the only pitcher in the rotation that can't get out of jams without getting pounded for a few runs. It happens time and time again with him. When is enough, enough??

You have formed an opinion and you are looking for situations where it is true. Parra has a better OPS against with RISP than without. In fact his career OPS against with RISP is .674 or better than every other starter on the team except Gallardo. This game should have been 4 IP, 4 ER, the defense are to blame for 5 of the runs. Yeah 4 IP, 4 ER is not good by any means but it isn't like he was a train wreck out there either.

While I wouldnt go as far to call him a mental midget, I do agree with the notion that Parra seems to not have the ability to handle adversity well. I also agree with that I would rather watch a Suppan game any day of the week over a Parra game. Parra just nimbles and it seems that every count goes 2-2 or full.

Parra has great stuff, he just needs to learn how to pitch. Nibbling is for guys like Suppan who cant get guys out any other way. Its frustrating watching Parra who has top flight stuff pitching like he is afraid of contact.
That's the description I was looking for. He throws "out" pitches till he gets behind the count and is forced to throw it over the plate and gets rocked. It is similar to facing a pitcher in unlimited arc softball, especially a guy who wants to throw it high on every pitch. You just let him throws those high balls that arent even close and force him to throw the 6' pitch for a strike and jump all over it.
