Link Report for Games of Thursday, May 21st

How good of a season does Adam Heether have to have before the Brewers worry about losing him at the end of the season?
Hopefully he will be on the Brewers bench before seasons end. He's better than MaGehee, and always has been. The Brewers seem to have finally taken notice, as his move to AA was so he could play, and now he's batting 3rd in AAA.

I see no reason why he couldn't be the next Jeff Keppenger or Mike Aviles.

Heether and McGehee is probably a fair comparison, but Heether will have to find a place where he does not have to play SS, which most utility INF's can do. Also, Casey has real value as a guy who can catch at more than a "get through the game" level.

Heether does play SS, and has no issues there. He's quicker than MaGehee. He's a better hitter than MaGehee. Heether worst offensive season was as good as MaGehee's best.

I don't follow. McGehee doesn't and isn't playing shortstop. With Counsell on the team, this is the perfect place for a guy like Heether, if you think he can't play shortstop (something I remain agnostic on).

I have no rational explanation why but Escobar's antics on the bases are really wearing thin with me. I just want him to hit and make good decisions(on the bases and with the baseball), he doesnt have to prove to anyone that he can run... the Brewers aren't stealing bases and I'm not sure that Macha will change his philosophy as long he has so many capable HR hitters in the lineup.

With Hardy and Counsell (and Escobar waiting in the wings), wouldn't that place be Milwaukee? Or am I misunderstanding what you are saying?

He has played occasionally at SS and could play there in a pinch, but if called on to start at SS for an extended period of time the Brewers would have to be in a pretty bad place because that would mean no Hardy, Counsell, or Escobar, and a trade would be necessary.
