Yes, performance related discussion is one thing, personal attacks another. Hall didn't look any worse in his last AB than most guys tonight, but he is subjected to greater scorn for doing exaclty what a lot of guys would have done in the same situation.

Ok, well Braun also hit a ground ball with the bases loaded, but the difference is that he has succeeded against righties this year when Hall hasn't. If Hall would've come through in a situation like that against a righty anytime this year maybe it would be a different story, but he hasn't. It's the continued failure that is the problem here.

How so? Bill Hall is by far the worst regular player against righties. He cannot hit them plain and simple. No one is saying he is a bad guy, but he should not be at the plate against a RHP. He is just brutal against them.

I've been critical of Hall as well. See last night's thread. But it is hyperbole to say he hasn't come through all year, because prior to the hamstring injury he was playing OK on both sides of the plate. I think he was probably playing above his mean in doing so, but he has the ability to do better than he is now. I think he has gone back to a more open, wider stance, though I don't have video to prove it, and I think that may be hurting him a bit.

A couple of things. Hall is by far our worst regular (yes, even worse than Kendall) against righties.

Second, our top prospect is sitting on the bench for a guy who can't hit righties. That's not going to sit well with fans.

Wow, could those guys have looked sillier jumping all over the place like children? Holy moly. That was an incredible all around defensive play. Braun's throw was spectacular and Kendall blocked it perfectly.

To add to the Hall point, he may have been better average wise earlier this year, but he hasn't come through in any clutch situations. Other players on our team have been far better in those situations, especially against righties. Counsell and Gamel would both be far better options against righties in key situations. Gamel got a big hit yesterday in a clutch situation, and we've all seen Counsell succeed all year against righties. I know Counsell is also playing in this game, but in a situation like last night he would've been very useful.

At least it's good to see Cam ripping the ball again. I sure hope we have some magic left because we are getting way too many hits to have one run in this game. And Hall needs to take a seat on the bench pronto. As in right now. And I am one of his biggest supporters on here
