Why not Taylor Green at 2B in AA?

Green's rehabbing and would be a better 2B than 3B prospect if he can do it defensively. Besides, he's already showed he can handle 3B.

Bad wrists bode poorly for a "wrist" hitter. Weeks might well have career threatening problems there.

I think we are becoming quite loaded at the positon. Lawrie was obviously moved there and Cutter Dykstra was moved there as well just last week. Two guys that are likely future MLB players. I imagine we'll just keep Green at 3B and think/know he can move to 2nd in a pinch if ever needed (a la Casey McGehee).

Do we know the history of players who have had the same injury as Taylor? My impression, and it's only an impression, is that this was quite serious, something that could put him behind, and ultimately affect his long term ceiling.

Green's injury is not career threatening in any way, it may suppress his play for a while, but the early returns are encouraging.

Plenty of information at the address below (no linkage, we have IE 6.0 at work and the formatting gets all messed up)

With Heether now at AAA and Vinny Rottino posting a .675 OPS in AA, I'd guess Green will be manning 3B at Huntsville soon. I don't see anyone at Brevard County that would keep Green from jumping to AA as soon as the Brewers are comfortable making the move.

Also, the injury can't be slowing him down too much... he's got a 1.397 OPS in his first four games in Appleton.

I saw Green play this last weekend. I love the bat. His has lightning in his hands. However, I don't see him as the agile athlete a 2B needs to be. Picture Tyler Houston, but with some junk in the trunk. He's heavy footed. He doesn't run well. He fits perfectly at 3B, and will hit well enough to start their in the majors.
