Here's your new Alumni Thread.

Please let us know of any omissions or incorrect links. Thanks to mls4 for his work on the major league side of things.

If a player is shown as injured, it means he has no stats yet for 2009.

Glendon Rusch, recently DFA'd by Colorado, will be added should he find work elsewhere.

Tidbits and thoughts --

Michael Brantley just turned 22, so he's very young for AAA, but still slugging only .331, with a matching OBP

Eric Fryer with a .622 OPS, not finding those Florida State League parks to his liking

Darren Ford's in high-A ball still, and he's not running?

Steve Palazzolo, the giant 6'10" RHP, has made it all the way to AAA with the Giants.

Callix Crabbe struggling with a .576 OPS in a hitter's league

It's not often guys released very early in their Brewer careers find new homes in affiliated ball -- infielder Ryan Barba did (.539 OPS in low-A).

Matt Kinney is still active?

David Krynzel in AA -- who knew?

Bryson, Adams, Garrison, Lefave, Palmisano, Hhendrickson -- all sidelined without action thus far in '09

If you remember outfielder Francisco Placencia as a young Power 50 stud at age 18-19 in 2002-2003, then consider yourself a Power 50 stud yourself.

Is it over for Cap'n Lou? Palmisano released by the Astros, according to Baseball America.

I hope not for his sake, he's just never hit enough, but if Corporan continues to get a look, I have to believe Palmisano could latch on someplace.

Is anyone else amazed that Marco Scutaro is leading the MLB in runs scored and has an OBP 120 points higher than his BA (like .411)? Incredible. Looks like he's enjoying the switch to SS as well.

Watched the Padres 9th inning rally, Tony Gwynn with a nice welcome, walked and scored the winning run. Added Tony to the Alumni links.

Also from San Diego:

Reliever Mike Adams, facing Double-A hitters, struck out two in a scoreless inning last night in his first outing since surgery to repair a torn labrum last October. Ahead are an additional 10 innings in the minors before coming off the disabled list, Bud Black said.

Crowe takes LaPorta's spot for Tribe as insurance

With Grady Sizemore's elbow still bothering him, the Indians called up Trevor Crowe as a center-field reinforcement from Triple-A Columbus Tuesday. Top prospect Matt LaPorta was sent back down to Columbus after getting his first taste of the Majors.

While the 24-year-old LaPorta, who batted .190 (8-for-42) with a double, a homer and four RBIs in 13 games, will benefit from more consistent at-bats in the Minors, this move was made in large part because of Sizemore's condition. Crowe has the defensive skills to man all three outfield spots and is particularly adept at center, as Sizemore is currently limited to designated-hitter duties.

Sizemore, who started at DH for the fifth time in eight games, did not participate in any of the Indians' pregame activities Tuesday.

"I hope it's not a DL situation," Sizemore said. "I'm going to take some days off from throwing and then re-evaluate it. It's tough, because no one wants to be out for a long period of time. We're trying to get by without doing that."

From Rotoworld:

Marlins signed RHP Gary Glover to a minor league contract.

Glover is working out in extended spring training and will join Triple-A New Orleans once his arm is up to speed. The journeyman Glover could be a candidate for middle relief later in the summer.

There are literally dozens of players with ties to the Brewers organization in independent ball, so we can't possibly track them here, but we will notify you about players who were with the Brewers organization very recently who are involved in indy league transactions.

Lou Palmisano has signed with the Sioux City (Iowa) Explorers of the American Association.
