Old-time Milwaukeeans. question about WTMJ sports announcers

CrewDood

I was talking to my older brother last night at a party and reliving some of our 'get in trouble' and 'remembering sports' stuff and the subject of the 1962 baseball season involving the Braves(the first year of the Mets and Colt 45's). I said the WTMJ TV sports announcer then was Mike Walden. In 1963, Walden moved to Los Angeles, and I believe it was Hank Stoddard who replaced him and not Jim Irwin on CH4. I do not believe Irwin was an anchor there, or at least not early on.

How accurate am I here?

I can't give you exact years off the top of my head, but Walden sounds right for the early 60s. 1963 seems too early for Stoddard, I'd guess late 60s, early 70s. Irwin was at WLUK in GB when I was at UW-Oshkosh from '67-'69. I don't know who it was mid-60s off hand. I don't think Irwin was ever sports director or lead sports anchor but he did do some sports reports on the news. Now that you've gotten me curious I'll probably do some research when I have time.

According to wikipedia, Stoddard was from '67 to '94.

Edit: Ted Moore did some sports anchoring at 4 during the 60s but I don't recall him being the regular guy for an extended period.
