Being the marketer that he is, I think Buck Rogers should set a world record for most baseball games played in a single day to make up all of their rain outs. How about a 24 hour - 6 game marathon for Huntsville!?!

Good news on Green! Looking forward to having the full compliment of prospects back once Cain returns.

Final: Brevard County 1, Lakeland (Tigers) 0, completion of Friday's suspended game

Brevard County Box Score

Chris Errecart's one-out double in the 4th scored Zelous Wheeler, who had walked and adcanced to second base on a wild picth, to score the game's only run -- MiLB did cut the game to a seven-inning length; RHP Amaury Rivas won't start the nightcap, because he tossed five wonderful innings here; Logan Schafer was immediately returned to the leadoff spot upon his return; Wheeler may only be hitting .257, but thanks to 22 walks (vs. only 19 K's), he's sporting an OBP north of .390...

Brevard County Game Log

Rob Wooten with his 12th save, but look how adventurous (and lucky) it was --

Lakeland Bottom 7th

  • Pitcher Change: Robert Wooten replaces Amaury Rivas.
  • Michael Bertram grounds out, second baseman Eric Farris to first baseman Steffan Wilson.
  • Chris Carlson walks.
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch runner Devin Thomas replaces Chris Carlson.
  • Kody Kaiser walks. Devin Thomas to 2nd.
  • Audy Ciriaco singles on a ground ball. Devin Thomas out at 3rd, hit by batted ball, shortstop Brent Brewer unassisted, Kody Kaiser to 2nd.
  • Justin Henry grounds out, pitcher Robert Wooten to first baseman Steffan Wilson.

  • Roger Tomas grounds out, shortstop Brent Brewer to first baseman Chris Errecart.
  • Kody Kaiser doubles (7) on a line drive to left fielder Lee Haydel.
  • Devin Thomas singles on a ground ball to left fielder Lee Haydel. Kody Kaiser scores.
  • Adrian Casanova walks. Devin Thomas to 2nd.
  • Audy Ciriaco doubles (2) on a fly ball to center fielder Logan Schafer. Devin Thomas scores. Adrian Casanova scores. Audy Ciriaco out at 3rd on the throw, center fielder Logan Schafer to shortstop Brent Brewer to third baseman Zelous Wheeler.

he pitched that 1 inning yesterday, he didn't pitch today, the game was suspended after 1 complete.

Team Canada, err, I mean , Wisconsin, is throwing on a route tonight. Taylor Green is pretending he never had a wrist injury, 3-3 with a HR and 4 RBI so far. Bowman with 5 shutout innings with 6 K.

Another nice appearance from Zach Braddock. Hopefully he stays healthy and keeps his feet under him and we see what he can do at Huntsville in the second half.

Two doubles from Escobar is also great to see; one was just a grounder, but the other one was a ground-rule fly ball, so unless it was one of those weird down-the-line popups with English on it, he got ahold of one.

Another nice appearance? Why don't you guys believe in this guy? Dude has 17 k's in 9 innings, many of them swinging, and I believe if you do the math. a 0.56 WHIP! This is exactly the way he pitched in WV before he complained of arm problems....so if the elbow is fixed, get him a few more innings, get him stronger and begin to treat him with the "prospect respect" he deserves....#14....I don't think so.

You know what sucks about Braddock? Even if he pitches lights out, he won't be stretched out enough for 3 years to pitch in the rotation. Hopefully he can get 100 innings this season, then 120ish, 150ish, then rotation.

There is no reason to think they're turning Braddock into a reliever is there? I'm assuming he's just stretching out, but wanted to make sure. Interesting point you make there TheCrew07, about him not being able to stretch out. Seems like a bit of a Manny Parra career path

Agreed! This kid has played hurt, gutted it out through two years of misdiagnosed ulnar nerve pain by the Brewers. He has done everything they have asked hm to do. at 6"4", 230 or 240 with a mid 90's heater he has got to be an intimidating figure on the mound. Add the best slider in the system...and what Sickels calls an emerging + change up,it's time for Zach to be challenged soon. His 17K' in 9 IP has to be the best in minor league baseball despite his short stints in rehab on the mound. I think even more exciting than the 17 K's (is there such a thing?) is the minimal hits, the ground luts and the very, very few free passes this season. I know it's mid May, but this kid has shown repeated flashes of brilliance. Unfortunately, the Brewers allowed him to be misdiagnosed for 2 seasons...hang on to your hats ladies and gentlemen,,,this could be one hell of a ride!

"Crew" & "Marty", you are correct. Although there is no master plan to have him stay in the bullpen, the Brewers have taken such a passive stance with him and other true prospects over the past few years, so not to force a stress injury. I don't like it either. Braddock is a horse. He could go to three innings...the following week four, if all is well. The week after that start a game and work it out from there. I scratch my head with the uber conservative approach. it's not like we have Glavin and Maddox (at their prime) in our Major league rotation. I don't get the kid gloves with all of the pitchers. Your input is great, keep the great dialogue going!

You shouldn't rush a kid just because the big-league team doesn't have Glavine and Maddux. That is when critical mistakes (remember Nick Neugebauer?) can be made. Braddock hasn't exactly shown that he can stay healthy, even if you believe the team has mishandled him. I have no doubt he will get bumped up soon if the success continues (as the Brewers have done in the past), and TheCrew07 does bring up a good point about his annual innings moving forward. He's still only 21 years old, so there's plenty of reason to be patient with his development.

Man, is it good to see Green back again. He may not have the highest upside, but I can't think of many players outside of Gamel (before his promotion) I feel more comfortable about contributing at the big-league level when thinking long-term. Go see him at Wisconsin while you can!
