It looks like BC is suspended due to rain after 1 complete, the boxscore gives Anundsen credit for 1 IP, 1H, 1BB, and 3Ks

edit. who knows though with how sketchy the box scores have been this season.

edit2. Looks like Lawrie is getting the night off.

From Brett in Huntsville:

The Friday night game scheduled between Huntsville and Chattanooga has been rained out. The teams played one scoreless inning before heavy rains and the threat of more rain throughout the night forced the postponement.

The two teams do not meet again in the first half of the season and will not make up the game.

The Stars travel to Mobile Saturday to begin a five-game series against the BayBears. Chris Cody will make the start for Huntsville against Mobile right-hander Matt Torra. Coverage of the game will begin at 6:50 PM central time and can be heard through the internet at www.huntsvillestars.com.

We'll see what happens with the rotation over the coming week, how it will impact David Welch's side work between now and his next start, etc. What a nightmare the weather's been for the organizational pitching coaches.

The rain also a nightmare for Buck Rogers -- Huntsville had a world-record setting event planned to begin after the game this evening, an all-weekend wiffle ball game with the funds raised scheduled to go to Habitats for Humanity. Mother Nature well out in front in the season standings in '09.

Lakeland Site:

Tonight's scheduled Florida State League game between the Lakeland Flying Tigers and Brevard County Manatees has been postponed due to wet playing conditions at Joker Marchant Stadium. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Saturday, May 16 at 4:00 PM (3:00 Central).

What is unclear at this time is whether there will be another doubleheader Sunday to make up Game Two. Saturday's first game will be a continuation of tonight's suspended game. Like Huntsville's David Welch (and Yovani Gallardo, it seems), Evan Anundsen's work schedule will be altered by the unfortunate start-and-stop situation, no doubt.

Final: Cedar Rapids (Angels) 5, Wisconsin 2

Wisconsin Site Game Summary

Rattler road trip ends with a loss

By Chris Mehring / MiLB.com

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - Manuel Flores scattered ten hits over seven innings and was supported by some manufactured runs as the Cedar Rapids Kernels beat the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 5-2 on Friday night at Perfect Game Field. Angel Castillo and Matt Crawford each drove in a pair of runs for Cedar Rapids. Wisconsin wrapped up their seven game road trip with a 2-5 record.

The Kernels (16-18) scored an unearned run in the bottom of the second inning to take the lead. Adam Younger reached on an error. He stole second and went to third on a ground out. A sacrifice fly by Dwayne Bailey was deep enough to chase Younger home with the first run of the game.

The Kernels manufactured two more runs in the bottom of the third inning. Alexi Amarista singled, stole second and went to third on an error. A walk and a hit batsman loaded the bases with no outs. Back-to-back RBI grounders by Castillo and Crawford made the score 3-0.

Cedar Rapids added two more runs in the fifth. Castillo drove in the first run with a sacrifice fly. Then, Crawford drove in his second run with an RBI double for a 5-0 lead.

Wisconsin (12-21) had some chances. In the second inning Michael Vass was at third and Jose Duran was at first. Edgar Trejo lifted a fly ball to medium right and Vass tried to score. But, Castillo made a strong throw to the plate to cut down Vass and end the inning.

The Rattlers loaded the bases with three singles in the top of the sixth, but could not cash in against Flores in the frame.

Wisconsin finally broke through in the seventh inning. Erik Miller collected his third hit of the night, a one-out double. One out later, Michael Marseco singled to center to drive in Miller. Flores would get the final out of the seventh and turn the game over to the Kernel bullpen. Flores did not walk a batter and struck out a pair to put himself in position for his second win.

In the eighth, Wisconsin again loaded the bases against reliever Matt Shoemaker. They scored a run on an infield grounder by Miller. Then, a walk to pinch hitter Brett Lawrie reloaded the bases. Mike Kohn relieved Shoemaker to get the final out of the inning.

Kohn gave up a single in the ninth, but struck out the other three batters he face to finish the game and get his first save of the season.

Wisconsin Box Score

You'd never know it considering the final score and that the T-Rats outhit the Kernels by 12-to-7, but Wisconsin was 4-for-13 with RISP and Cedar Rapids 1-for-12; sounds like a roster shakeup is in the works for the boys...

Wisconsin Game Log

Erik Miller picked off in the 3rd, of course just preceding a Sean McCraw double...

Chris Mehring explained the non-start for Brett Lawrie: Lawrie is not in the starting lineup for the first time this season. He is 2-for-12 in the first three games of this series and 2-for-22 on the road trip.

Final: Nashville 8, Reno (Diamondbacks) 4

Nashville Site Game Summary:

Sounds Take Three Of Four From Reno

NASHVILLE- The Nashville Sounds won a wild one on Friday night by a score of 8-4 against the Reno Aces in front of 7,678 fans at historic Greer Stadium.

Nashville cracked out 17 hits on the evening, led by Jason Bourgeois' 4-for-4 performance with three runs scored and first home run of the season.

Sound starter Tim Dillard (6-1) earned his PCL-leading sixth win of the season, allowing three runs on five and two-thirds innings pitched while striking out two.

The Sounds took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on Bourgeois' two out RBI single to center field that scored Erick Almonte, extending his season-long hitting streak to seven games.

Joe Koshansky added to the Sounds lead in the bottom of the third inning, hitting a two-run home run to right field after a triple from Hernan Iribarren, making the score 3-0. Koshansky's long ball was his seventh of the season, and first at historic Greer Stadium.

Bourgeois' second hit of the game led off the fourth inning. After Cole Gillespie reached on an infield error and a sacrifice bunt by Dillard, Tony Gwynn knocked home Bourgeois for a 4-0 Sounds lead.

Reno was finally able to get to Dillard in the top of the sixth. Watson and Alex Romero singled, followed by a walk to Jon Hester to load the bases. An infield single by Chris Roberson scored Watson, with Romero scoring on an error, making the score 4-2. Ruben Gotay knocked home John Hester in the next at-bat, reducing the Sounds lead to 4-3.

Nashville came back to score two runs in the bottom of the same frame, all with no outs. Bourgeois again led off the inning with infield-single and stole second base on the first pitch to Cole Gillespie. Bourgeois then broke for third and scored on a hit-and-run single to centerfield by Gillespie, extending the Sounds lead to 5-3. Gwynn's second RBI of the night made it 6-3 Sounds.

The Aces struck back with another run in the top of the seventh inning to trim the lead to 6-4, but Bourgeois followed with a solo shot to right field to extend the lead back to three runs for a 7-4.

Tony Barnette (2-3) picked up the loss for Reno, surrendering four runs on eight hits over four innings.

Nashville's bullpen shut down the opposition again this evening, allowing no earned runs in three and a third innings following Dillard's performance. Chris Smith earned his eighth save of the season for the Sounds.

The Sounds welcome the Las Vegas 51s to Music City at 6:00 PM tomorrow night at historic Greer Stadium for a four-game series, their lone meeting during the 2009 season. Southpaw Lindsay Gulin (1-1, 8.38) faces lefty Brian Burres (1-3, 6.65).

Nashville Box Score

Tim Dillard has a heck of a chance to be the AAA All-Star Game starter, although this wasn't his best outing; Chris Smith should be there as well; Sounds turn four double plays; it was a positive statistical night for each and every Sound that played, you'll hardly ever see that, but it's true here; Hernan Iribarren is cruising with an .849 OPS, nice; six Sounds with muliple-hit games...
