i see no problem pitching Hoffman. There is no guarantee he will even be needed in St. Louis and we should take the wins while we can.

Exactly. Not that I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving Defilice in to finish up leading by two... but these first 3 months of the season you really need to just pile up as many wins as you can. Worry about opponents later. Also, Hoffman didn't break 25 total pitches Tuesday and Wednesday combined... so pitching him 3 days in a row wasn't insane by any stretch I don't think.

Nonetheless, would have been nice to have won by 4 or 5 and not had this decision... but still, good win! Just make sure we win tomorrow by half a dozen so we don't have to worry http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Now that was a fun game to watch. Beautiful weather and a largely positive result on the field.

The school group next to us was elementary age and very well behaved. They said "excuse me" and "thank you" when crossing in front of us - better than a lot of the adults we see at games. They also started a "home-RUN, home-RUN, home-RUN" chant immediately before the Hall and Fielder homers, which further endeared them to us.

Those of you who saw the early "Trevor Time" graphics might be pleased to know that they have been tweaked so the "v" looks less like a "b." I agree that - as much as the whole Hells Bells entrance has oomph (to put it mildly) - it could have even more oomph if they'd start the song before announcing Trevor's entrance. I think most everyone knows what the loud chiming bell means now.

I was also happy to see/meet a few posters: ewizabeff and sgtcluels (he didn't see me) in the concourse, billyhallfan in our section, and brains and braun after the game in the Giants lot.

The only bummer for me today is there isn't another home game for 11 days...though I'll be at the next one.

Edit: I forgot to add that Bob Uecker walked right past us as he was ushered out of the press box - behind section 215. I could have reached out and given him five (we were that close), but between the many fan observations made on this site and his handler being right there, I thought better of it.

He did say hi to a kid as he walked by, which made at least his dad's day.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Crowd was great today - I've been really impressed with the amount of fans showing for the weekday day games this early in the season.

Hoffman has been insane - what is it now, 9 innings and has only given up 3 hits with 0 walks and 0 runs.

One of the hits was wiped out on a DP so I think he's faced 2 over the minimum and thrown something like 113 pitches.
