I'm assuming they will still mail out the tickets tomorrow, even though we're pretty much only mathematically alive now. Do we have to send the entire package back to the Brewers if they don't make it?

Actually, pitch, in Saturday's mail we got a letter from the Brewers regarding 2008 season ticket renewals, with a summary of options for "unused Postseason payment from games not played." It mentions that a refund (should you choose to have all of your payment refunded) will be issued upon receipt of your returned 2008 renewal invoice to the Brewers ticket office. Seems to me that part of the letter would be a very logical place to state that the tickets also have to be returned - if that were the case.

The options for 2008 renewal are:

1. Pay remaining 2008 season ticket account balance in full by November 15 and receive an exclusive gift.

2. Pay remaining 2008 season ticket account balance over 6 equal monthly installments beginning November 15.

3. Pay remaining 2008 season ticket balance, due January 15, 2008.

Interesting for our account is that the amount we paid for those first two rounds of playoffs may well exceed the cost of our 2008 renewal (I expect some price hike, but it would have to be quite a bit to exceed our postseason invoice). It makes me wonder if the account reps will try to interest returning season ticket holders in upgrades for '08. In our case, we just might bite if they did - though ultimately, I suspect that the influx of new accounts will cancel out the Brewers' desire to coax more money out of us.

In any case - as the letter also says, "In the event the Brewers are not fortunate enough to earn a Postseason berth in 2007 (hawing pauses to sob briefly), you can expect to receive your 2008 Season Ticket Renewal Packet the week of October 8, 2007." So they are savvy enough to strike while the iron is probably still hot.

interesting. Thanks hawing.

I wonder what the "exclusive" gift would be? Unopened package of playoff bunting (the red-white-and blue stuff, for those that are thinking of Hardy, Hall, and others from this weekend)? Playoff pennants and press pins? unclaimed bobbles? Alfonso Soriano dartboard?

Alfonso Soriano dartboard?....(insert Homer Simpsonesque moan and drool)

I just crunched some numbers and if the Brewers raised the terrace box seat cost by $2 next year (which would be more than a 10% hike over our 2007 cost), we could apply our NLDS/NLCS postseason tab and still get $3.00 back. If they raise it by less, we'd get even more back; and if they raise it by a little more, enough of our '08 balance would be taken care of already so we almost might as well pay up by November 15. If we do, I will surely report what the 'exclusive' gift is here.

I just purchased 3 tickets for Game 2 at Citizens Bank Park. I really have no plans on going to this game because I'll probably be in Nashville at the time (Unless the Brewers miraculously are playing the Phillies in this game). But I'll be rooting for the Phillies to take the Wild Card or the NL East. Anyone want to go to Philly? Edit: I just ordered two tickets for Game 3 at Shea Stadium too!

I can't speak fully for the Brewers, but the inside back flap of that Postseason ticket brochure we got in August listed September 24 as a ship date. The brochure didn't seem to be tailored to just 20 game or just full season customers, so I imagine that applies to both groups.

Now I'm eligible to purcahse Padres tickets. I think I'll hold off in hopes of the Brewers sweeping them and knocking them out of the wildcard. Has anyone sold tickets off of StubHub.com? I'm wondering if that'll be the easiest route to get rid of these tickets.
