What would it take to get Milwaukee Boy Joe Randa out of retirement?

 

What is David Bell doing now?

 

Would Vinny Castilla be interested in adding the Brewers to his resume?

 

Jeff Baker is a man without a role in Colorado. What would it take to get him here?

 

CC was signed to be a backup infielder and late game pinch hit option. We need him back in that role.

wouldn't bringing up Braun from AAA be easier than all of those suggestions?

Sure it would be, but he's not at 100% yet. Still nursing a sore wrist.

the problem with signing a guy like bell or Castillo is that it would take 1-3 weeks for them to get into baseball shape A guy like Randa can't just be signed and expected to be able to play tommorow.

 

if the brewers really believe they need a third baseman, then they are better off trading for one. there might be a few available. i doubt many teams have given up on the season yet.

 

The pirates' Castilla wants to be traded. he ca n play third, but he will be very unhappy once braun arrives.

 

There is this 30+ minor league third baseman who plays for oakland's AAA team. I think his name is Dave mc clain. he has a lot of power. But as i said, he's over 30 and looks like he's a AAA fixture.

 

A question i ask- how bad was Corey Hart at third?

 

I realize braun is injured, but he would be ready sooner than a free agant signee would be who hasn't played any ball this year.

 

The question that should be asked is are teh brewers looking for a third baseman for the remainder of the year? or the remainder of this month? Will braun be promoted in june? or as a late September call up? When do the brewers want to start his clock ticking? the answer to that goes a long way to the player the brewers would pursue.

 

i wanted the brewers to go after Nomar as a third baseman and super sub. I still do. Nomar couls start at third and pla y unti l brau n arrives. he could then play first. short and third as a veteran utility player. I highly doubt Nomar wants to be a utility player just yet. Houston's loretta would also have been a good signing. Cincy sent Encarcion back to AAA. Cantu is lousy defensively, but he is available.

 

I'm just thinking of guys who may be available as part of a trade.

 

I still think the best option is braun. it would be nice if councell and graffy would step up and accept the challenge and hold the fort.
