Writing/delivering a eulogy

RU Rah Rah
This unfortunate task is going to fall to me very shortly. (My dad is about to lose his battle with lung cancer.) I haven't done it before, and I'm wondering if anyone has any tips -- what to do, what not to do, etc. -- based on what you've done yourself, or what you've witnessed.

Write a letter to your dad. Speak like he was the only one listening. Say all the things you want/need to say. Go over all the moments, the small ones, the forgotten ones, and the seemingly insignificant ones. That is what people want/need to hear.

It's tough and I hope you find your way through it.

Tell a story instead of speaking in generalities. Everyone loves stories about their loved ones and getting some knowing looks and laughs can be very comforting at that difficult moment.
