Would you be willing to trade....

There will be a team that has a vet arm or bat availible at some point during the season.

I assume that Yo and Braun are essentially untouchable unless the Brewers have a chance for a real impact player (an all-star in his mid-20s like Cabrarea along Willis for example).

Most rebuilding teams want prospects and it is obvious to me to get anything of value you might have to include Inman in a trade.

Guys like Mench and Gross have very little real value,

Would you be willing to give up an Inman for a "quality arm"?

Most likely, dependent on who the arm is and what their contractual status is. Inman is my favorite player in the entire organization, but the fact is that he is at high A, and that's not very close to the big leagues. The likelihood of a pitcher his age getting hurt is really high.

If they were able to get a good player who has a year of arby left after this season, they'd have to really seriously consider it. If it's for a relief pitcher, or something, then I wouldn't even consider it.

I think Inman might be at AA by the end of the year, and be able to start 2008 in AAA.

He has advanced fairly quickly.

THe guy who keeps popping up around here is Greinke and that is the type of arm who could help the Brewers out of the pen right now and by next year maybe a member of the staff. HIs problems are not major ones but the Royals are so bad that he seems to be unable to learn how to win.

Inman plus one of the other prospects and Gwynn might be able to get you a guy like him, depending on how dumb the Royals are.

What about Chad Cordero?

I think I would be willing to for him. Brewers get help now - and a closer for the future when Coco (#1) walks. Washington get a high ceiling pitcher for the future.

That said, I too am a big Inman fan and don't want to make any rash moves. My ONLY reason for trading him would be that he MIGHT get injured yet. And you are better off with a sure thing than a gamble.

I have to wonder with our current payroll how much more payroll the brewers could acquire. Normally you would see a team trade a prospect for a vet if they're in the race. I would think the only way the brewers would do that is if the vet had a low salary or if the other club picked up a good portion of it. or if the tea m accepted a guy like mench or graffy as part of the deal.

I think in some cases teams would a prefer prospects they can plug in immediately, like Jackson or Dillard, than a better prospect 2 years away.

Add Cappelan to that mix, as he's just been added to the Nashville rotation, which could increase his trade value.

I'm a bigger fan of Inman than most I would imagine. Thus, the gent, in my view, should be given the moniker of UNTOUCHABLE...even moreso than YoGa if you take into account that most teams would view YoGa exponentially more valuable given his K rates and his proximity to the Show. Greinke...you're not getting Billy the Kid. Chad Cordero....I still don't trade Inman. I might be willing to include him if we could get Harden, or Dontrelle/Miggy (read OR Miggy, in case someone understands me to believe there is any package imagineable...INCLUDING YoGa AND Braun...for that duo). That said, the two best acquisitions for this current team are both at AAA.

Inman for Daniel Cabrera

I'd do this only if the brewers would make him the closer next year. He could share set-up duties with Turnbow for the rest of the season. I think Cabrera has the perfect closer mentality and stuff, plus he is still very young. I don't think he has what it takes to be a starter.

Zach Jack/Gross/Graffy/Latin Cappy or Cap'n Lou...

for

Melvin Mora/PTBNL (Jason Berken)

I Like It!

They have long seemed to be done with Mora, and they seem to be building for next year, much like their contemporaries across the river, the Nats.
