Please keep the BBs and XBHs to a minimum Soup... the offense had a day off, they should score some runs tomorrow for you.

Scherzer is actually an alum of the Northwoods League's La Crosse Loggers...I believe he's the first Loggers player to ever get drafted in the first round and the first Loggers player to ever play in the Majors. Definitely exciting to see him go up against the Brewers for anyone who's been following him since those days. I know the folks in La Crosse develop an attachment to a lot of these guys and like to follow them through the minors.

If you are going to only list Suppan's stats from this year, shouldn't you only reference his 2009 salary? Furthermore, shouldn't it be prorated for the number of starts he's had so far? He's made 4 starts out of an expected 30 or so starts, so the Brewers have paid $12.5 mil x 4 / 30 = $1.7 mil for his 7.32 ERA.

I hated the signing and think he's not a good pitcher but let's be fair. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

So far for our $42M we have gotten 404 IP of 4.90 ERA and a 23-24 record. I never minded his signing I just think they gave him $2-3M too much a year and 1 year too many(yeah I guess that means I did mind it but you get the idea!). The idea of getting a bunch of mediocre innings to take some stress off of a young rotation was fine though.

Actually the D-Backs have been heating up the last 2 days. Doug Davis just led them to a 10-0 win over the cubs yesterday. A lot of people have been ripping them here in Phoenix, sports talk radio hosts having to talk people off the ledge. Leading Chris Snyder to speak out about it and it may have gotten them going. I think they have a lot of momentum coming into this series.

With our plate discipline and ability to get opposing pitch counts up so far this year, I think it may be a short night for Scherezer.

Soup, stay on track. You have looked pretty decent your last couple times out. And please try to avoid Upton in big spots if at all possible. Thanks
