2009 Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

Fans' Choice Bobblehead

Help the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers pick which former or current player should be immortalized as a bobblehead. The winning selection will be given away on Thursday, September 3, at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Voting will run through the end of the Midwest League All Star Break on June 24.

Candidates:

Felix Hernandez - P - 2003

The pitching phenom from Venezuela shot through the Minors, appearing in only 48 games before making his Major League debut at age 19. Felix started two games for the Timber Rattlers at the end of the 2003 season (as a 17 year old) and had a 1.93 ERA over 14 innings while striking out 18.

Gil Meche - P - 1997-98

The Mariners first round pick in 1996, Meche had a brief stint in Appleton to end the 1997 season, and then spent all of 1998 in the Rattlers rotation, going 8-7 with a 3.44 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 149 innings. Currently with the Kansas City Royals, Meche was a 2007 MLB All Star.

Cutter Dykstra - OF - 2009

A second round draft pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in 2008, Cutter is the son of former Major League All Star Lenny Dykstra. He hit .271 for the Helena Brewers in '08.

Adam Jones - SS - 2004

Seattle's top pick in 2003, Jones hit .267 with 23 doubles, 7 triples, 11 home runs, and 72 RBI for the Timber Rattlers in 2004. He is currently the starting center fielder for the Baltimore Orioles.

Phillippe Aumont - P - 2008

The 11th overall selection in the 2007 draft by Seattle, Aumont made his professional debut with the Timber Rattlers in '08. The Canadian appeared in 15 games, going 4-4 with a 2.75 ERA and 2 saves and was selected for the Futures Game held at Yankee Stadium.

Chris Tillman - P - 2007

The Mariners second round draft choice in 2006, Tillman made eight starts for the Timber Rattlers in 2007. He struck out 34 batters in 33 innings. Now in the Orioles organization, he is one of the top pitching prospects in the Minors.

Brett Lawrie - 2B - 2009

Milwaukee's first round pick (16th overall) in 2008, Lawrie made his professional debut with the Timber Rattlers this season, slugging a home run for his first career hit. He appeared for Canada in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China and the 2009 World Baseball Classic.

Jeff Clement - C - 2005

The USC product was the 3rd overall selection in the 2005 draft. He hit .319 for the Timber Rattlers, helping lead them into the playoffs, where they reached the Midwest League Championship Series.

J.J. Putz - P - 2000

A sixth round pick out of Michigan, Putz won 12 games for Wisconsin in 2000. Putz threw a no-hitter for the Timber Rattlers as a starter, but has found great success as a reliever in the Majors. A 2007 All Star, J.J. was traded to the Mets in the offseason.
