Tailgating Drink of Choice

PrinceEatMeat

I drink Chill when it's really hot out

Fortunately in southern California that is most of the year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Be thankful that they allow tailgating at the Keg - tailgating not allowed in Chavez Ravine.

I understand the Miller at Miller park argument, but that is in no way keeping it local (plus it's awful). How 'bout some Lakefront or Sprecher. They make real beer, and are locally owned.

Even better, how 'bout a...

Rockin' Robin

Rehorst Vodka (distilled in Milwaukee, they even have a Playball special edition vodka that gives back to local charities)

mixed with

Robinade (another local product that also gives back, I believe to the MACC fund)

Nothing like drinking with a cause. That how I get it done.

Hey, props to the Huber drinkers though!

Seriously though it has to be Miller Products or Wisconsin brewed products no matter where you are drinking in the world. If you are at some bar in Europe and they have a Bud special and regular priced Miller you better order the Miller and when they ask you why say because you are from Wisconsin.

I was in Amsterdam a little over a year ago and I had about two hours to kill early one evening while I was waiting to met up with some people so I decided to have a beer. I picked some random bar which was completely decorated in old Schlitz, and Blatz memorabilia. More memorabilia then I have seen in a bar in Milwaukee, and I have seen a lot of bars in Milwaukee.

I drink micros when I have the cash. If not PBR is always good.

The people who work at the brewery and it's companion industries would disagree.

I attend loads of games but rarely am I early enough to tailgate. So whatever I can grab in the park. The new left feild loge bar has C- on tap. I usually grab one on those on the way up to the terrace.

I was once at a Cards game at Miller Park and some of their fans were line and asked me where the Bud Lite was...most informed/intelligent baseball fans of all time huh.

If I was in belgium I'd be drinking a belgian beer that i was unable to get here. I support almost all of Wisconsin's microbreweries but this logic seems a bit crazy. If I was fortunate to be drinking in Europe, I'd hope I could find something that tastes better than a Miller product.

Glad to see the Huber Bock love. The flagship Huber is good too, and they make a decent light beer.

I tend to stay with the Wisconsin Micro Brews such as New Glarus, Ale Asylum, Sand Creek, Tyranena.

On a hot day though, a High Life does hit the spot. The new Schlitz is good too. Though in theory Miller is a South African/Chicago, it still employs Milwaukeeans. In any case I figure it employes more people who are rooting for the Crew than does Anhueser Busch.

A lot of beer that isn't "Wisconsin" beer is still brewed and bottled in Wisconsin. Same with "Import" beer. What happens is a brewery instead of brewing it and shipping it to Wisconsin will make a deal with a local brewery to brew their beer in the Wisconsin company's brewery and brew the Wisconsin brewery's beer in their brewery to cut down on shipping and distributing costs. I don't have any specific examples.

Fan is short for fanatic.

I blame Wang.

The point is that it is not OK to drink Bud anywhere, not just the Miller Park parking lot. When I was in Germany I had all their local stuff and it was the best beer I have ever had in my life, but if all you have is a choice between all the big names you should always drink Miller...and I'm sorry but Miller does not taste bad.

Bud Drinker and Brewer fan here. I usually have to drive when I tailgate, though, so generally I don't drink at Miller Park. But, I definitely take heat from all my roommates for drinking Bud, especially when we're having fun out in our front yard before Badger football games. My response to them is that I let my taste buds decide http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Not trying to stir anything up here, but I like the taste of Bud better. Doesn't mean I hate Miller or that I refuse to drink it or anything like that. A lot of people try to tell me that Bud tastes like dog piss and things like that. But to me, Miller has a weaker taste, especially after drinking a couple of Bud Lights. All else equal, I would choose Bud over Miller. It comes down to my personal taste.

But in the end, beer is beer, and my preference for Bud isn't all that intense.

Just lemonade mix-cheap beer-cheap vodka (optional....for added drunken-ness). But, as the mentioned earlier, this concoction should come with a surgeon general caveat: guaranteed to impair you. Very good chance to leave you with nasty hangover.
How much lemonade, beer and vodka....this sounds good, might want to bring it out for the game on Friday

The local Bud distributor employees people too. Are there jobs any less valuable than employees who work at the Miller brewery? If my only choice is betwen Bud Light and Miller Lite, I'll take Bud. Just personal preference, I hate Miller Lite and MGD. I will drink what I like, and it's not dependent on who paid for the naming rights for the Brewers stadium.
