Jenkins window closing

Its time to trade Gee-off while the iron is hot for bullpen help.

To the Nationals, along with Vargas, for Jon Rauch for Collin Ballestar and Glenn Gibson.

Then you move Villanueva into the 5 spot, Mench full time in LF (or the ever popular Hall back to 3rd and Gwynn leading off and CF), and you get 2 top notch prospects for major league ready guys.

While you might be right about moving Jenkins I'd only do it after we had already acquired an allstar type outfield bat and then I'd move him to the AL. The two most likely Brewers to be traded are Hart and Mench. Only Mench because we want to. Hart because that is likely what it would take to get the all star bat.

While we have too many outfielders I think we could still upgrade. It might mean moving Hall back to 3rd and making him a super Utility guy again once Braun is up. Then all we need is one more bullpen arm.

I just am not comfortable with the outfield as is if we make the playoffs.

All it would take to upgrade is for Philly to hit a big losing streak and have them salary dump Burrell. Or for Hosuton to return to form and have them dump Ensberg. It doesn't take much to get most position players in season.

Actually the brewers would also need to convince Burrell to waive his no trade clause. I love the idea but right now I think Jenkins is really a better option at half the cost.

I think end is saying that they could have both Burrell and Jenkins, at least I think they could. I'd love that. You can certainly find someone else to platoon Jenkins with (because I'd guess Mench would be headed to Philly). Then you still have the whole Corey Hart not playing thing, which kind of sucks.

But, yeah, I don't think Burrell would waive his no-trade, and I think the Phillies are going to hang around all year. That's a good team.

What young pitcher are you going to add in with Hart to get an All Star type OFer?? Inman and Hart might get us a big name. Burrell would be a nice addition, but like someone said that would hurt in the outfield even if Jenks would get moved back to RF with Burrell in LF.

This is a contending team. The Crew will not move any veterans, they may well pick up one.

Al, they likely will move Mench. They like Hart and what he can do, but they also like Gwynn and Gross. Dealing Mench for a reliever or prospect (a AAA Infielder maybe??) would allow Hart to play vs all lefties and some righties, while still finding at bats for Gross and Gwynn. The real trick would be what to do with Jenkins then. Would he play vs lefties, or would the three lefties split time?
