Brewerfan Bloggers

As you can tell from other posts, we're going through the exercise of re-vamping the site (something that's long overdue). One of the things we've been discussing internally is how abysmal our home page has been, as far as content goes. Our staff is doing as well as they can with the time they can afford, but we need to do more. I've toyed around with the idea of including news feeds from other sites on the home page, and that's something I'll probably pursue.

With that said, I'd much rather have blogging that's exclusive to Brewerfan.net. What I'm hoping to do is give any user here the ability to host a blog at brewerfan.net, and then there would be a system in place (sort of like a Digg system) to determine which blog posts should show up on the home page.

Are there people out there who would be interested in this sort of thing?

If you open it up to all users the quality of the writing might reflect negatively on the site... though I guess it's a way to attract some talent. I hope I don't come off as elitist because that's not my intention... for example I have to write a book to get a simple point across, written communication is just not my thing, so someone like myself blogging probably isn't a good idea. Many of the good communicators on the board already have their own blogs but could maybe be convinced to move their blogs to the site. Personally I would love to see more from posters like Bring Back the Stein, just as one example. His posts are extremely well thought out and well written. I would like to see some original ideas out of the more statistically orientated posters... like Rluz's win probability posts, those always led to interesting discussion... other ideas could be humor or scouting related... there's really no limit if people are willing. I sincerely hope that posters will jump on the opportunity to enhance the quality of the site.

I would be willing to try something. One of my favorite interests is historical Brewers stats and often I come across something I think is interesting but I wonder if anyone else cares. Seems like that might be a good fit.

If what you're adding to threads is just the tip of the iceberg, you can count me as interested. I generally enjoy your insight.
