Time Warner Cable will broadcast the first game of the Timber Rattler doubleheader live on channel 32.

Remember, your "scouting reports" are always welcome.

***

Diehard Sounds fans can actually watch the series in Memphis via MiLB.TV. The cost is $6.95 monthly, $29.95 for the season for live and archived video feeds. The Sounds will likely be on MiLB.TV approx. 15-20 times this season, I'd imagine. It does not appear single game purchases are still available any longer, and blackouts (Memphis area in this case) do apply.

No Gillespie in the lineup- headed to AAA finally?

Yes, see the Transaction thread. Looks like Mark Rogers turn is being skipped, nothing but your possible speculation on why right now, other than cautiousness (no DL move).

But we get rewarded with the wonderful not-quite-yet 21-year-old Evan Anundsen, perhaps the most predictable starter in the system -- in a good, ground ball machine, fantastic control kind of way.

Wow, I jinxed the heck out of Evan immediately after that post. Walks, line drives, fly balls, six runs, three earned.

Lawrie made a couple nice defensive plays, leaping high to spear a line drive once and then in the ninth inning making a sharp, strong throw to third on a grounder to get a runner trying to advance from second. The announcers were kind of scratching their heads trying to think of the last time they saw a second baseman try to throw ahead of a runner like that, but hey, he got the out.

Generous scoring to give him a double on his hit, IMO; lots of defensive hijinks on that play. In addition to the hit, he also lined out sharply earlier; Reid Nichols trotted out the old "the ball just sounds different off his bat" saw when he was in the booth.

Nice game at the plate from Dykstra, especially the stolen bases, which are his first two of the year; however, he looked pretty bad out in center, but then again it was very windy.

I love everything about the TWS Timberratler broadcast except that they don't give any radar gun readings. Pedro Lambertus appeared to throw gas, as was reported last year. Lambertus has the typical power pitchers build, with a very thick lower half. When I watch Mike Marseco, I think "this must be what Craig Counsel looked like".

Final, Game One: Wisconsin 7, Peoria (Cubs) 6

Wisconsin Site Game Summary:

GRAND CHUTE, WI -- The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to erase a 5-2 deficit. Then, the Rattlers held on to defeat the Peoria Chiefs 7-6 in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday night at Time Warner Cable Field. Cutter Dykstra led the way with a 3-for-3 night, three runs scored, two stolen bases, and a pair of RBI.

Peoria (5-6) grabbed the lead in the top of the first inning. Josh Harrison tripled with one out. An RBI single by Rebel Ridling drove in Harrison.

The Rattlers (5-6) answered back in the bottom of the first inning. Peoria starter Chris Archer walked the first two batters he faced. A double steal put runners at second and third. Brock Kjeldgaard knocked in the tying run with an RBI groundout.

But, the Chiefs staged a two-out rally in the top of the second to retake the lead. Nelson Perez singled and Kyler Burke doubled to put runners on second and third with two outs. David Macias singled up the middle to drive in both runs for a 3-1 advantage.

Dykstra singled with one out in the bottom of the third inning. He scored on John Delaney's RBI double to right field to pull the Rattlers to within 3-2.

The Chiefs padded their lead in the fifth inning. Burke doubled again, this time to start the inning. He scored on a single by Harrison, who was out trying to stretch the hit into a double. Ridling crushed the next pitch for his first home run of the season. But, that padding wasn't enough for Peoria.

Wisconsin rallied in the bottom of the sixth inning. Reliever Jose Pina walked Michael Marseco on four pitches to start the rally. Dykstra smacked a double down the third base line and Marseco scored to knock Pina out of the game. Delaney followed with a single against Josh Whitlock to put runners at first and third.

Brett Lawrie was next and -- with Delaney running -- lined a hit to leftcenter. Dykstra scored easily. Delaney stopped at third as Lawrie hustled into second. The throw from Peoria shortstop Junior Lake went to second, but it was wild and Delaney scored the tying run while Lawrie went to third.

One out later, Corey Kemp lined a hot shot back at Whitlock on the mound. Whitlock had his glove knocked off and by the time he tracked down the ball, his only play was to first as Lawrie scored the go ahead run.

Wisconsin tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth. A two-out RBI single by Dykstra made it 7-5.

The Chiefs scored a run against Pedro Lambertus in the top of the seventh, but he got out of the inning to pick up the save.
