As long as Vargas is pitching decent....

Wouldn't it make a lot of sense to try and aquire another strong bullpen arm by sending Vargas somewhere. I guess the first thing to think about is who is rather desperate for pitching.

How about:

Nationals

Reds

Rockies

Rangers

Orioles

to name a few 'desperate' teams.

Next, who could we get from these teams for Vargas

Chad Cordero (talked about frequentley on this site)

David Weathers (a return could be nice)

Coffey (lots of talent)

Otsuka (would love this, but it all depends on Gagne)

Baez (pretty ridiculous contract)

Jamie Walker (wouldn't be thrilled)

Herges (dito)

Out of that group, I like Otsuka the best. What about everyone else? Any other possibilities out there?

LaTroy Hawkins (for the seventh inning, not bad)

Carlos V. or YoGa could take the spot in the rotation, perhaps making our staff more dynamic.

I say we wait until the break and see which contender is in need of a reliable back-end rotation horse. THere is always a market for decent pitching, especially when that decent pitching becomes good pitching for lack of good pitching.
