More Food for Thought: Johnny Damon

Yeah he is on the wrong side of 30.

Yeah he makes 12 million a year.

Yeah he is having a bad season.

Yeah his body is breaking down a little....

But if the Yankees keep tanking through the All Star break, Damon stays healthy, and the Yanks take back some part of that contract (maybe 1/3?) could Damon be a fit for the Brewers?

Im thinking Tony Gwynn, Jr., Turnbow, Vargas for Damon. The Yankees will want Inman I am sure, but clearly Johnny is NOT worth something like that and I dont think the Brewers should consider that. Maybe Zach Jackson, Dillard, Parra. They'll want arms I am sure.

In my scenario, Gwynn and Mench are gone, Hart is the RH platooon mate with Jenkins and he also spells Johnny and Hall as needed, each once a week, giving Hart 4 starts a week about.

1. Damon CF

2. Hardy SS

3. Weeks 2b

4. Fielder 1b

5. Braun 3b

6. Jenkins/Hart RF

7. Hall/Hart LF

8. Estrada

It isnt going to happen, but it's interesting to think about.

Nah, I wouldn't want Damon, I never liked him much.
