2009-04-15 Reds (Owings) at Brewers (Looper): 7:05 PM CDT [Brewers win, 9-3]

I can't believe we won a game, and won it in one of those "man, can't we ever just win a game without any late inning opposition dramatics/easy win" situations, and then there's only 50 posts in the IGT. Wow.

I thought it was a good game to watch. Hall's shot was off the glove of Dickerson in left; couldn't tell why he didn't catch it--Cincy camera work not on the ball tonight. Cameron pounded the ball all night and Weeks did his job. Also nice to see Kendall get a big hit.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but did the pitching staff walk only one guy?

I was at the game tonight, sat in Loge Diamond. I was standing out in right-center at the Tundra Territory by my favorite usher George when Rickie hit his home run. The home run ball got thrown by me and a woman got it for her child. Brewers personnel came out and requested the ball back (in exchange for a Trevor Hoffman autographed ball), they wouldn't say why. Can't find any reason for it to be a significant ball, any ideas?

Maybe Weeks wanted his first home run ball of the season?

that was number 2, he hit an absolute rocket on Sunday night.

Maybe because of Jackie Robinson Day? (Still not sure why, though - a future charity auction item?)

Who would have thought that we might look to Braden Looper as the stopper? Seriously, I thought about giving him a standing ovation after he pitched a clean first inning.

This was a fun game to attend. As Jason Kendall's at-bat began in the big inning, I said to the S.O. something like, "That angry typing you hear is Brewerfan posters wondering why Kendall's batting instead of Rivera or another PH. OK, Jason, just poke one over the 3rd baseman." I like it when they hear me.

I actually thought Bill Hall's hit to the wall had been caught at first. The Cameron and Weeks blasts were no doubters.

And since JoeHova asked, the time of the first pitch was 7:07 PM. Temperature inside Miller Park, 65 degrees; outside, 49.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

That's real unfortunate then because the lady did not give them the ball. She declined their offer and abruptly left. I'm thinking she thought the ball had some monetary value, I know she asked them if she could have the ball authenticated... What a (you know what).
