Taking Cody and Jones' spots on Huntsville's roster (from Helena's roster) are LHP Bobby Bramhall and RHP Nick Bucci (the Bucci era lives on -- good for the kid...).
Bucci has made the best of his stay in Hunstville so far -- locating his pitches and topping out at 94.

At Brevard, 24-year-old LHP Rafael Lluberes has landed on the disabled list with an undisclosed injury. This is Lluberes' 8th year in the system, having signed as a 17-year-old in 2002. This is the first disabled list stint in his career. Lluberes had thrived in a short relief role this season (numbers), and last pitched on Monday.

Taking his spot on the roster is native Floridian (Port St. Lucie) RHP Damon Krestalude, up from extended spring training in Maryvale. Krestalude turns 20 years old today, so that's a heck of a birthday gift for him. Drafted in the 17th round last season out of high school, Krestalude posted these numbers in 14 games (five starts) in the Maryvale heat last summer. It remains to be seen if there's a time frame on his stay, but like Nick Bucci to Huntsville before him, it has to be a big thrill to bypass both Helena and Wisconsin for now.

Krestalude and Bucci's situations are different. There was no hat involved in Krestalude's call-up. He will be there around two months, depending on how the injuries go.

Here's your Draft Forum Scouting Report Link to 3rd round SS Josh Prince, out of Tulane

Sulphur resident Josh Prince signs with Brewers

Sulphur, LA Southwest Daily News

After years of hard work, one Sulphur resident realized his dream on Tuesday, as Josh Prince was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round (105th overall) of the Major League Baseball draft.

"It is a dream come true," Prince said. "I am still on cloud nine.

"I like how they handle the system with the younger guys. It is a great place for me to be."

Prince was drafted as a shortstop and recently finished his second season for the Tulane University Green Wave. He will have a just a few days to celebrate before heading off to Helena, Montana on Sunday to play for the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League. Helena is a Rookie Affiliate of the Brewers.

Prince said that he would be attending a mini-camp for about a week before the start of the Pioneer League season.

Prince (6'3", 195 lbs) spent last summer playing for the Green Bay Bullfrogs in the Northwood League in Wisconsin. Prince was an All-Star shortstop for the Bullfrogs in 2008 while leading the Bullfrogs with 37 runs, seven triples and 20 stolen bases while batting .317. He received the Rawlings Big Stick award for being the top shortstop in the Northwood League.

He is coming off a solid 2009 season for the Green Wave after batting .353 with 15 doubles, four triples, six home runs, 31 RBIs and 48 stolen bases. Prince's 48 stolen bases put him a tie for first in the nation.

Prince was a two-time All-State selection in his four years at Barbe High School in Lake Charles. The 2006 graduate played both shortstop and pitcher for the Bucs and still holds the record for most saves in a season (5) and career (12) at Barbe.

Out of high school, Prince played one season for the University of Texas while earning Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors before transferring to Tulane.

Prince's agent, Bobby Straface, seems to have a mean-mug going in that photo. Smile man! Same with Mom...

Edit: I should also say that this kid seems like a great pick. Great size for a SS, can hit and get on base, and has a pretty decent track record in a decent conference. Nice pick Bruce.

Adam McCalvy recaps the signings so far:

Two hours after the Draft concluded, Seid said that the Brewers had already signed or agreed to terms with 20 of their 53 picks. The Brewers typically make official announcements in bunches once the proper paperwork is filed, but the list of players already under contract includes third-round pick Josh Prince, a shortstop from Tulane; sixth-rounder Hiram Burgos, a right-hander from Bethune-Cookman; ninth-rounder Jonathan Pokorny, a left-hander from Kent State; and 10th-rounder Tyler Roberts, a high school catcher from Georgia. In addition, the team had come to terms with second-rounder Max Walla, a high school outfielder from Albuquerque who wowed club officials in a Miller Park workout last weekend, and was close to agreeing with another second-round pick, high school catcher Cameron Garfield.

At Nashville, RHP Josh Butler is paper-moved to the Helena roster, and Sam Narron is activated from the disabled list.

It doesn't look like a rotation spot is available for Narron, the next five games are scheduled to be started by Cody - Dillard - Burns - Gulin - Wright.

CF Logan Schafer posted a respectable line of 5-for-23 (four walks, three K's) during his brief stay in Huntsville. He's been returned to Brevard County, filling the roster spot vacated by John Axford's promotion.

OF Drew Anderson was reinstated from the Temporarily Inactive list at Huntsville.

In order to make his scheduled start Friday night, RHP Donovan Hand was transferred back to Huntsville from the Helena paper roster.

Hand's spot freed up when RHP Nick Bucci was placed on the suspended list as of Monday, June 8th. Bucci will turn only 19 years old on July 16th.

We don't know if this was a league- or team-imposed suspension. Bucci was ejected from his most recent Sunday appearance after hitting a batter at West Tenn. Hopefully this is related to that, and not an off-the-field discretion for the youngster. We'll attempt to find out.

From Tom Haudricourt:

Periard ready: Right-hander Alex Periard, one of the top pitching prospects in the farm system, will be activated at Class A Wisconsin on Sunday, according to assistant general manager Gord Ash. Periard had been sidelined since spring training with shoulder tightness.

Ash said the Brewers are using the new affiliate in Appleton to ease players back into action after being injured. They did so earlier with third baseman Taylor Green before sending him on to Class AA Huntsville.

Ash said Wisconsin second baseman Brett Lawrie, the Brewers' first-round draft pick in 2008, should return to action at the end of the week. Lawrie had surgery to repair a broken nose after being struck by a bad-hop grounder at the start of the month.

Both very good news, I really want to make a trip up their to catch him pitch. He is a guy I am high on, I think I rated him like 7th in my top 10 favorite pitching prospects. And it's always great to have Lawrie playing. Ha I actually had one of those real realistic dreams a few days ago and in it we trade I think Lawrie, Jeffress and I forgot the other real good prospect for some okay relief pitcher and I was flipping out and then I woke up and was so relieved it wasn't real lol ughh talk about a nightmare

News from Huntsville:

The Milwaukee Brewers and the Huntsville Stars announced today that RHP Mike Jones has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled List. In a related move, RHP Josh Butler has been assigned to Huntsville from Nashville.

Butler will be in uniform for the Stars today against the Jacksonville Suns.

Undisclosed injury for Jones, but that can't be good given his recent poor outings. We'll see...
