TV tonight (WMLW)

MLB Network is showing the game right now. Not sure how much of it they're going to show, since its their "live look-in" show, but its better than nothing.

Also, does the Bucks game video look really choppy for anyone else?

I just fired off an email to FSN Wisconsin on their fan forum feedback spot letting them know how I feel. It won't do any good but at least I let them hear about it. When will MLB and FSN realize that no one outside of Milwaukee gets WMLW so they may as well leave the ESPN or MLB feeds on instead of blacking them out like last Thursday and Saturday. The entire state is held hostage because some rinky dink station in Milwaukee picks up the slack for FSN covering the Bucks or for some reason MLB thinks WMLW will lose viewers if people in Madison watch the game on ESPN or MLB when we don't even get WMLW over the air, on DBS, on Fios, on U-Verse or anything of the sort. We may not have a rant thread anymore but this just annoys me immensly.

Did anyone else who has the extra innings package run into the same issue I have ran into? Tonight the game was on 734 with the Reds feed, not my first choice, but being in AZ I have to deal. Anyways, made it all the way through the top of the 9th inning, and hit that 3 hour mark and they stopped the game feed and went to the Best Damn Sports show. I checked my DVR last night when I got back to Phoenix from being in WI for Opening Day, same thing, the bottom of the 9th was cut off. Irritating to say the least.

I believe the policy is even worse than you imagine, I think that even if WMLW had not been broadcasting the game, it would be blacked out from being shown by anyone else in the Brewer's territory.

Dang you joepepsi for getting my hopes up. I should have known bettter - like I did before you guys convinced me otherwise! Guess its good ol' Ueck tonight
This was ridiculous! I was livid. Last year the WMLW games were available on the alternate sports channels. What I don't understand is who was able to watch this game on 652?

To make matters worse, they also blacked out the Twins games last night. I've had DirecTV for 5-1/2 years and always got both the Twins and Brewers games. Also, the Cubs game on MLB alternate channel, 214, was blacked out. This isn't just a major leage baseball black out thing; it's DirecTV making it up as they go along too.

And the worst part of it, there's no one to complain to. DirecTV customer service don't understand what you are talking about, and there is no way to contact MLB, not that they care anyway.

  • 2 weeks later...
Instead of starting a new thread, I figured I'd just ask this here... Did FSN and WMLW do away with showing the game on FSN (with the WMLW feed) to the rest of the state when needed? I know they have done it in the past and the games not shown earlier this year were Bucks related, but before I make a pointless call to Charter I was wondering if the deal was suppose to be in place again this year.

It is not listed as being available on channel 669 on DirecTV. Two weeks ago when this happened it was listed on channel 652. It is listed as being there again tonight. Last year they would carry the games on alternate RSN. Two weeks ago it was blacked out.

On DirecTV Extra Innings, they show the Brewers feed on 736. It's only in SD. There usually is not a Brewers Live with it...not sure if there is on WMLW and they just don't carry it or they don't actually do one.
There is no Brewers Live on WMLW, they have an alternate pre-game show called "Inside Pitch". It has Davey and some other guy (from WMLW, I assume).

I despise WMLW. I get it on channels 08 & 318, and both are in black and white and really fuzzy right now. Every other channel is just fine. A pox on them, I say.
Move closer to the city and you'll love WMLW if you're a non-cable subscriber. I recently came to the revelation that I don't watch pay television nearly enough to justify continuing the service, so tonight is a treat for me.
