Chris Nowak anyone?

Why hasn't anyone brought up the idea of trading for Chris Nowak, 3B, Rays...it is not like he will beat out Evan Longoria anytime soon...he is built like a truck, good OPS, young enough and most likely, could be had for less than most. He is also not a recycled name cut and left hanging by the league...

 

If you wanted him (Hall, Gamel, and CMcG aside)...what would you trade for him? What would get it done?

I don't know much about Nowak, but a quick peek at his stats and they were ok but not spectacular for a 25 year old on AA. I do think they Rays have multiple blocked players that we could use. Problem is they'd probably want arms in return. Zobrist, Brignac and Aybar all play multiple positions and have a lefty stick. I like Zobrist, he can play anywhere in the IF, LF, RF, has an .429 career OBP in the minors (5 seasons) and is likely the easiest to acquire.

I played/pitched against him in High School. Kid can hit trust me lol

I played against him in high school as well, and on the same traveling team for four years.... he can hit, but I am not convinced that you can compare him with guys in the Majors or even many in AAA for that matter.

Totally agree doc...if you played with or against Casey McGehee(just for example) at that stage you'd think he was unbelievable too.

I wouldn't object to getting Nowak, nice to see a kid from waukesha on the Crew
