We give up Hall, Jenks and Gallardo for Crawford, which is way way way too much, but even more crazy is that you have TB getting Maybin, Hall and Gallardo.

That would be the worst trade for the Brewers since the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth.

I dont understand the Carl Crawford love, yes he is fast but cant Bill hall put up the same batting number and he is already under contract. And why would you give up your best pitching prospect for a minimal offensive gain, there is no way Melvin woudl do that.

Trading Gallardo for anything short of a young stud 15-to-20 game winner or a young stud All-Star-caliber proven bat (David Wright) would probably be foolish. And most teams aren't looking to give up any guy they might have to meet that criteria.

I think trading Gallardo anytime soon would be seriously foolish and, fortunately, extremely, extremely unlikely.

Back to the proposed trades, Crawford's good but not that much of an upgrade if Hall's really just in a slump, which I still think is the case. And if Gallardo's as good as everyone seems to think he is, it shouldn't take much more than Gallardo straight-up to get Crawford.

But I still think any trade involving Gallardo this year or, barring injury, next year, would run a high risk of occupational suicide for Doug Melvin.

Crawford is not a good centerfielder. Gwynn would be a good idea in the middle, with Carl in left, but even then, we're selling low on Hall. And why would the Tigers trade their top position prospect for a FA corner outfielder (which they don't need)?

I like Hall for Crawford. however , if the brewers acquired Crawford, i would hate to have both Crawford and Gwynn starting in the outfield. An outfield of hart, Crawford and jenkins wouldn't be bad.

The D Rays will soon have Price and Niemann competing for a starting slot in their rotation. i'm not as sure the D rays are as desperate for young starting pitching prospects as people think. All the D rays reall y need is to stop playing boston and the Yankees 17 times a year.

as for guys like Crawford being over hyped, all players who make the all star team are overhyped the following years. Crawford is an All star! he must be great. I do like him a lot more than Pierre.
