April Prediction Thread

splitterpfj

OK, let's hear it...what will the Brewers' record be in the month of April?

They play...

at SF - 3

Chi - 3

Cin - 3

at NY- 3

at Phi - 3

at Hou - 3

Pit - 3

AZ- 1

Only two off-days in April...I don't think I've ever seen that. 10 at home, 12 on the road...the Giants' top pitchers, the Cubs, Mets and Phillies...the guys had better be ready to go!

I say 11-11

at SF - 3 games-- I think they'll go 2-1

Chi - 3 game-- I think they'll go 1-2

Cin - 3 games-- I think they'll go 3-0

at NY- 3 games-- I think they'll go 1-2

at Phi - 3 games-- I think they'll go 1-2

at Hou - 3 games-- I think they'll go 3-0

Pit - 3 games-- I think they'll go 3-0

AZ- 1 game-- I think they'll go 1-0

so that makes a 15-7 start. I'd take that.

I'll say 10-12. The 9 game road trip is going to be tough. The Mets and the Phillies are damn good, and I've read an article from a sportswriter who believes that the Astros don't have any holes. (This is going to be funny all year long, especially when they're struggling towards the end of the year.)

Cin - 2-1

AZ- 1-0

I'll go with an even .500, 11-11 heading into May. The pitching will struggle early and probably blow some late leads without Hoffman in the bullpen, but we'll start to see the team come together by the end of the month and right the ship.

@ SF: 2-1

CHC: 2-1

CIN: 1-2

@ NYM: 1-2

@ PHI: 0-3

@ HOU: 2-1

PIT: 3-0

ARZ: 0-1

11-11. Mid-April will be rough (Villanueva will blow two saves), but ending the month against the Astros and Pirates will help to right the ship.

AZ- 1 1-0

11-11 and I'd be thrilled with that record after a tough first month. Having opening day as an off day really hurts. None of the guys want that day off and it doesn't allow them to rest when they need it. Anything better than a .500 month would be awesome.

Tom Handricourt actually discusses that in a recent blog post. He said basically that the Giants were being greedy trying to get an extra exhibition game in. That's kind of crappy that another team can affect our schedule like that. I guess it's pretty minor though and money comes first.

I don't mean to steer the thread in a different direction but after reading TH's blog I really hope the Brewers take the first chance they have to screw over the Giants with a scheduling decision. Late game on get away day or something along those lines.
