Athletics as trading partners

There are a lot of ifs involved in this but here goes.

1)If the A's continue to fall from standings

2)If they trade Rich Harden

3)If Bobby Kielty gets healthy and shows he can still hit LHPs

How about a deal with them as they are usually active and trading harden would leave them with an open rotation spot? Im thinking something along the lines of Bush or Vargas for Kielty and Embree. Maybe mix a prospect in from one side or other to make things even, not too high of a guy. Now this isnt something I'd do until near the deadline, but if we can get Yo a little rest in there in the bullpen with a july call up, you can have Yo or Villy take Bush's/Vargas' spot in the rotation. Embree would be a solid lefty reliever with some closing experience this year as well. Kielty would be a great righty off the bench or take Mench's spot in the platoon, moving Mench to the righty off the bench role.

Kielty is a FA in the off season, so you can still hunt for a real LF this off season, and embree is signed for next year and has an club option for 2009 both at reasonable dollars(especially if he ends up as our closer in 2008/9)

edit:after reading my own post, my first thought is why would a team with a glut of OF get an OF w/o getting rid of one, just to clarify this is assuming that gwynn is in AAA trying to improve. 6 OF is ok if you look at it as we have 4 startes in 3 spots due to platoon, a righty off bench and a lefty off bench. itd be nice if either counsell or graffy had speed to be a pinch runner type, but i think we will have to live w/o bench speed as long as we have a platoon in left and 2 non-speedy backup IFs. its nice to have a little power from both sides of the plate on the bench too, in fact i value it more than speed.
