Now all you need to do is run the shirt again, but on the back put the quote "He just lived his t-shirt" and there will be bunch of BF.netters lining up to buy it!
For those interested, Happy has given the go-ahead and the "glove + ball = http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif" shirt will be released to the public in a slightly modified form

Did you catch SportsCenter last night Happy Youngster? They talked about you for probably a minute.

What did SportsCenter say? That article didnt paint a very good picture of the Happy Youngster.

Needless to say, other write-ups haven't painted a very good picture. The Marlin's message board isn't too kind to the Youngster either. I guess as I look at this from both Happy's and the Marlin's viewpoints, I am more empathetic to the Marlins and their player on this one.

On SportsCenter (or maybe it was FSN), they asked Happy what he wanted for the ball and he said a bat from Hanely and Coghlan. None of that other stuff was mentioned at that point. Even if he asked for all that other stuff, it wouldn't have cost Coghlan anything. A photo takes 20 seconds, they have hundreds of balls laying around for him to sign, and I'm sure the Marlins could find a couple open seats to give Happy some tickets.

The ball belonged to Happy so he didn't even have to give it to Coghlan. The guy makes enough money that he can afford two bats.

He asked for way too much IMO. I just don't think it's respectful to ask for stuff that's not from the player. It's a baseball. Is Happy a Marlins fan or a Brewers fan?

Yeah this guy sort of gives fans a bad name. I think Bill Hall hit his 100th today. I was thinking if I had caught that I would have asked him to sign my Bill Hall retro jersey and get a pic of me and him with the ball. that is about it, I wouldnt ask him for a Ryan Braun jersey or bat or anything else, it is just a bit disrespectful, IMO.

I could understand if he would have asked for a bat or a signed ball, and/or picture from Coghlan, and left it at that. But asking for a Ramirez signed bat, and tickets to the Yankees/Marlins series, all while wearing a Florida Marlins hat? That's shady, real shady. It's embarrassing if you ask me.

>>Having heard the Jenkins story before, I cringed when I saw this guy's name mentioned in the "Fan Hall of Fame" thread a few weeks ago.

Un-freaking-believable.<<

Yeah, I raised an eyebrow when I saw that too.

He originally asked for two bats. A Ramirez bat and a Coglan bat. On SportsCenter, they interviewed him, and that is exactly what he said he was going to ask for. They told him that they weren't going to give him the Ramirez bat so he asked for a signed ball or tickets. The tickets were for a Marlins game in Florida, not New York.

He wasn't asking for all this stuff right off the start, they kept negotiating for a while and over time all those items were mentioned. I don't think it was too unreasonable to ask for two bats, or one bat and a couple tickets to a park that never has fans anyways.

Happy was on Sportscenter again, getting a ball at a Rangers game. Some kid got pushed against the fence and Happy gave him the ball.

Did he ask for the kid's bike in return?

He was in the current ESPN magazine as well. Talked about how many balls he has caught and where to do it in the ball park.

If you're talking about what I think you are, that wasn't Happy, it was this guy, Zack Hample. He was talking about Miller Park, but he's from NY and he seems to be the guy who gets the media attention for snagging baseballs.
