MLB Trade Rumors has a link to SI.com up, stating that Sheffield is going to sign with the Mets. Guess he'll get his chance to hit #500 after all.

Man I hope so. Every inning he plays in the OF for that team brings the Brewers ever closer to nudging them out for the wild card for the second consecutive year.

MLB Network is also reporting on their ticker that Sheffield has signed with the Mets.

And Mets.com is reporting the same.

We'll get a chance to boo him when the Mets com to town.
