In honor of Parks & Recreation receiving an Emmy for Best Comedy, I present to you "Swanson vs. Food."

...and if you can watch that clip and have any clue why Nick Offerman wasn't nominated for best supporting actor in a comedy series, then you must really like "Modern Family."

thanks! You made my night! Watching that instantly put a smile on my face and giggling replaced Brewer grumbling.

I thought Ann getting all the pics sent to her was one of the more unfunny things I've seen on this show. Ron Swanson was great, as always...although his beard did look a bit fake to me.

At first I was a bit disappointed with Tammy 1, but I'll reserve judgement on that.

I agree with the bolded part, P&R is funnier than that. Still though, any episode with a Perd Hapley interview is going to be at least pretty good: "There you have it…where it is the thing Leslie Knope just said…about this situation."

Yeah, and then they kept running with the joke. I was surprised they didn't make some sort of Brett Favre or Anthony Weiner joke (unless I missed it).

April's admiration for Tammy 1 was pretty funny. "She's the cold, distant mother I never had. I love her."

as soon as the Cardinals clinched, I began my Thursday night show watching and this episode of Parks and Rec was pure comedy gold. I really needed the laughs produced from the episode. Ron was just pure money, as always.

Two eps in a row of Community getting me to laugh, although I'm disappointed that it's now two eps in a row of going with the same formulaic content of "and now the story from each character's point of view."

The Office was simply "okay" however, even though a few moments made me laugh.

And The League (on FX) was uproariously funny (and vulgar) this week. Too bad it may be the last episode I get to watch for a while, what with Directv and FOX having an impasse and making multiple channels disappear on Tuesday.

As someone who likes Community entirely too much, the episodes weren't intended to air on consecutive weeks. The die roll / alternate universe episode was supposed to be the third episode of the season, but took longer to film than anticipated, which meant it got bumped back an episode. (During the opening of the episode, Troy and Abed's apartment is # 303; before the door is opened, one of the guests says they thought it was supposed to be 304. This is how insanely meta Community can get.)

Since this has been a Parks and Rec and Community discussion I will post this here. Community will be replacedmid season with 30 Rock. I haven't watched it in a while but how NBC can cancel Community over Whitney is very confusing. Whitney may be the worst show on television. But then again after the Conan debacle, nothing at that network surprises me anymore.

I'm a shill for Community, in that I think it's the funniest show on TV right now (with Archer, P-Rec, Happy Endings, and Louie not far behind). It also troubles me to read a comment from someone who thinks the show is better than another NBC show, but isn't watching it.

Community is going on hiatus because more people watch Whitney than they do Community. People watch a lot of TV shows more than they do Community; while the time-slot is horrible (Big Bang Theory, X-Factor / Idol, etc.), it's never going to be the mass-market, lowest-common-denominator success (see, pretty much the entire CBS lineup) that it deserves to be. It doesn't mean that the show is cancelled, any more than Parks not being on the fall schedule last year (even after they pushed through a half-season of episodes during the summer to work around Amy Poehler's pregnancy) meant cancellation.

If you're picking up what they're putting down, then you need to watch this show, and get like-minded friends to watch it too. I think there's a decent chance Community will still get a 4th season (Sony wants the show to at least hit the 80 episode mark, in order to hit syndication)....but it could go on even longer if it could just find an audience.

Although I think PnR is the most consistently funny comedy on Network TV right now, Community is the most ambitious and I really appreciate it for that. Community takes risks that other shows do not, and a lot of the time it pays off.

I watch Community and PnR every week, and the Office because it's on at the the same time... even though it's not the same without Michael Scott.
