20 tents of people already for Brewers tickets!

brewcrewreview
I think the camping out is literally one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Wow. That is dedication personified. I couldn't do it just because I live in Nashville, have a full time job, and would not be able to afford the trip+tickets+ time off from work+ gas there and back from Nashville. I have nothing but respect for those guys though and it looks like tons of fun. The cardboard shanty...pure genius. I didn't see any shots of guys grilling?
Nashville winters are WAY better than Milwaukee winters.

I had tickets to buy for 2 larger groups of 13 and 17 people, so I had to wait to get through by phone. Took about an hour and 45 minutes, and then another 10 minutes on hold before getting through and buying my tix just after 11am. What struck me as odd was that I had no problem getting good seats in the outfield loge for the group of 17 for the Sun. June 28 (Kendall bobblehead) game, but they had nothing available in outfield loge for the group of 13 for the Sat. May 30 (cooler giveaway) game. We ended up in infield loge in the last couple rows. I always thought that the bobblehead games were the most popular-- any idea why May 30 was a much tougher ticket?

Also picked up a pair to go with Mom to the Braun bobblehead game for an early Mother's Day treat. Got row 6 in field level, mid-outfield. Also asked about club level infield but they were all gone, even for a pair.

Just be persistent and you'll get through.

When I went two years ago...people 'went' at Friday's for the most part, however, a few people decided in a twist of irony that it was fine to 'go' on the wall of the very building they were waiting to buy tickets to watch baseball in. Needless to say, the few that chose to do that got booed heavily by the rest of the crowd, not that it mattered as it seemed those who were doing it were far too drunk to hear anyone booing them.

There were portable toilets on the 1st base side of the stadium too, but I don't think everyone knew about them.

I find it interesting when you click on the opening day game for tickets it says, "Tickets for this game are currently only available through a Brewers Season Ticket Package.

Choose the ticket package that is right for you, or please select a different game."

So... It seems to mean they still have Opening Day tickets. There's still a slight chance these will be released since obviously thus far the Brewers set aside more than the amount of season ticket packages they sold. Another positive is I can't imagine them holding crummy seats for potential season ticket buyers.

I'm not going to jump on getting tickets now at the prices people are asking. Wait until the week of the game and prices go down, since a lot of people are currently asking for unrealistic prices.

Any tickets they have left for Opening Day that are currently reserved for late season ticket buyers they will probably make available the same way they did last year. Everyone who entered the lottery will probably get the chance to buy them online the day before the game. Only singles, obstructed view, and SRO mainly, unless you get really lucky. I got stuck in the waiting room for a while but managed to gain the privilege of paying $200 total for 3 singles obstruced view club level seats for someone I know.

104,000 tickets sold today (new record)

From the linked brewers.com story:

In addition to April 10 against the Cubs, the games for which the allotment of individual tickets was exhausted include April 11 and May 8-10 against the Cubs and June 13 against the White Sox. According to a Brewers news release, it's the first time in team history that a regular-season game other than Opening Day has sold out on the first day of availability. In addition, "very limited inventory" remains for May 2-3 against the Diamondbacks, May 30 against the Reds, July 11 against the Dodgers and July 25 against the Braves.
Also, it looks like at least one Brewerfan poster may have been quoted in the story. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Nice catch Hawing. They used a quote from a channel 12 interview of me and my friend Greg not Mike from last years Arctic Tailgate. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

As for this year I did camp out again and me and my friends do have 9 packs we were just hoping to get tickets together for opening day for our large group we usually have 12-15 people on opening day.

For the most part we might get more 9 packs next year since all we got for being the third tent about 18 people back were single seats all scattered on the third base side.

I will probably still camp out next year to see all my "Arctic friends" I have made over the past two years. We have so much fun together just talking about the Brewers and Drinking a lot of beer. The Brewers were nice and gave us free small pizzas yesterday for each tent? and the Vitamin Water truck stopped by and handed out free water for us.

Today we got are free hot dog soda/chips and T-Shirts and as supplies lasted free medium and xxl yellow Beer Pen shirts while in line inside the stadium.?

It is a great atmosphere for the most part and as long as you stay warm it is really fun.

BTW last year on Wednesday there were only two tents until 4AM when Bikeage77 showed up.

This year there were a good 10 to 15 tents by Thursday morning at 2AM

By Saturday morning at 1AM the line was all the way around the first base side and half way through the outfield by the Players parking lot the last time I checked it.

I finally got in yesterday I got two nice third baseline tickets 11th row for me and my fiancee (will be wife by then) to the Braun bobblehead game. And today got 8 tickets for us and some friends to the memorial day game vs the Cardinals. For that game got outfield box tickets 1B side. I have to see I'm happy with the seats for those two games. Rest of the year I will pretty much buy as I go.

I would guess a lot of people used the same logic I did. It is the first non-marquee game with potentially decent weather. Lots of group sales on that date. Had less to do with the give away and more to do with the timing/ schedule.

The May 30th game is the only Saturday game you could get group tickets for half off (50 or more seats) in certian sections.

I have done a group on one of these discount days the last three years. I had to settle for Bernie's Terrace (at the $8 per seat) instead of Terrace Reserved (at $7 per seat)because all the TR seats were gone, and I sent in the request a week before group sales were opened to new groups.
