You want to watch Hart to see if he is swinging at junk and Weeks to see if he is grounding out a lot and/or popping out a lot. Weeks always pops out too much which hurts his AVG as much as the Ks do but when he is going bad he also hits too many weak grounders in general. Those two things combine to leave him with a really low LD%.

 

Those are things pretty common with hitters not making solid contact in general but when he is hitting well he struggles with those a lot less.

you know, you gotta wonder if Uecker is a bit upset that Jim left, even if he did probably give him his best wishes. Somebody mentioned yesterday that he paused to think of the name "Cory" instead of saying "Jim" as he had for 14 years. Granted, I heard neither game (won't until Saturday) but at his age, ol' Ueck might not be thrilled with having to break in another partner.
