MLB '09 The Show

B2k1121
First two years played AA as a CF. Third year make the Brewers out of camp as the starting CF. Have started all year, batting .355, 67 game hit streak, 5 HRs, 32 RBI( I lead off so thats why its so low) and 24 SBs and I end up 6th in CF voting for the All star game and dont make the team. What the heck is that all about?

Can someone tell me how to manage your baserunners after the pitch? Everytime I have a man on 1st and 3rd, and I hit a sac fly to center field, I have to hit L2 to advance both runners to score the run, but the guy going to 2nd gets out for not tagging up. How can I make the guy on first tag up, and send the guy at 3rd? Thanks SOOOOO MUCH. I've lost 4 games because of this.

Left analog toward the base that the runner you want to advance is occupying. Then hit the button to advance the runner to the next base (left analog to the left to conrol a runner on 3rd, X to advance the runner home or square to go back to third).

Just played my best game ever. I played on Legend mode against CC at NY and scored 7 runs off him in 5 innings. I started Yo and he struggled, so in the 2nd I put in Parra. I rode Parra until the 9th when Hells Bells came in and shut the door. Definitely not my best pitching performance (7 runs), but I got the job done.

3 run shot by Weeks, 2 run HR by Hardy and Nelson, and last but not least, an inside the parker with..........Billy Hall. Damon dove for the ball in center and it went all the way to the way. I'm pretty happy about the game.

Just a bump since I finally picked up a (used) copy of The Show '09 for my PS2.

First thing I noticed is that it looks and plays exactly how I remember the '07 game playing (the last season that I'd purchased). While that is certainly a good thing since I love The Show, it was a bit disappointing to see (seemingly) identical graphics & the like.

I haven't done anything but play a home-&-home Brewers-Cubs set. Lost the first one 7-3 (@ MP), won the second 6-3 (@ Wrigley). Carlos Zambrano has better hitting talents against RHP than most regular everyday guys in the game, and YoGa gets literally zero love for his swing. IRL I'd say Gallardo is the better hitter, while Big Z has more HR pop. Anyway, just was an annoying thing to see.

Yeah, as a PS2 hanger-on, I don't ever really feel like I have any right to moan & groan too much. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Like I said, still a great game, but... like you point out, just basically the same game with very minor tweaks (as best I can tell so far).

Still a very solid game. I'm just through season one of an online league on my PS3 game. Down 2-1 in first round of the playoffs! Gamel has been a stud for me and Braun, but I'm having trouble bunching hits together. Sound familiar?

Wish me luck!

I started a RTTS as a starting pitcher earlier this week. Just playing a few days makes me realize how much it would kind of suck to be a starting pitcher in real life. I was drafted by the Pirates (ugh) and am toiling in AA right now. I have an ERA of 1.04 and am 6-2. One loss was purely on me, I gave up 3 runs in 6 innings. The other loss I had a one hitter going in a 0-0 game, gave up a hit in the 8th and was pulled and that guy came around to score. I've had it happen a few other times where I'd be cruising, give up a hit, get pulled, and the bullpen would give up my run. Frustrating, I tell you. haha.
