UPDATE 3-11: 2009 Media Guide

fitz19

Anyone know when the media guide comes out? I can't remember if it was before early feb, early march or late march.

The new 2009 Media Guide is now available in good ole Downtown Green Bay at Bosses Newsdepot. $15. They had about 10-15 in.

On a related note, I heard that the NBA is going exclusively to flash-drive media guides next season. I can't decide if that's a good idea or not. One benefit is that it will cut down on Tom Hammond's profiteering by selling extra copies to book stores.

If the Brewers do that then I am going to have to find some new toilet reading.

Per Tom H in the JSOnline blog, the 2009 media guide arrived at camp in Arizona today, with Ryan Braun on the cover celebrating his most recent home run. You know, the one that made September 28, 2008 a day to remember forever. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

One small gripe I have at this time of year:

Is it worth $12, or whatever the Brewers are charging this year, to get a media guide now - when I know that we have two free copies coming (one for each of our 20 packs), if I can just hold out until our first game in April? I'm thrifty enough so I'll wait, but that doesn't mean I'm not eager to see the '09 guide.

(and before anyone asks, our second copy is already reserved for someone)

Last night azcheesehead called me to ask if I had received the Media Guide that he sent me.(Not the one for sale on ebay, but another one that he sent because he is a good son) I had to tell him no but I would be looking for it. Today we got to leave school early for the snow storm so, after checking out the drifts on my baseball field, I went home and got the mail. Of course, it was in the mail. I took it in the house and opened it. There on the cover was a personalized autograph of Ryan Braun. Wow. As I paged through it there were autographs of about a dozen Brewers. It was more than enough to ease the pain of the snow that is piling up. Thank you azcheeshead.

Ah, Bosses. I made my share of trips there when I lived in Green Bay, back in the day.

I'm ready for a media guide now, though I'll still do the frugal thing and wait for our season ticket voucher.

Will the Brewers be selling these online anywhere? I bought them every summer from '87 through '92 when I'd come up to visit, but I fell off the wagon, and I'm interested in picking one up this year since I'll likely end up watching most all of the games on TV again this year like I did last.

Edit: Thanks for the PM'd offers to pick one up for me, guys! Much appreciated.

How do you get a media guide with your 20 pack? I purchased a 20-pack last year (and this year) and did not get anything.
The last page of your Season Seat Holder Handbook is a coupon for a free media guide. I have to take it to Guest Relations.
