How can I figure out if someone hacked into my blog?

RU Rah Rah

I checked my blog this morning and saw that a posting on a controversial topic had been deleted.

I've never accidentally deleted anything previously; in fact, I've never deleted anything. Just to see how complicated it was, I tried to delete an old and boring posting from last year. All kinds of "Are you sure you want to delete this?" prompts came up. After seeing that, I am 99.99% convinced that I didn't somehow do it accidentally.

I am not by nature a conspiracy theorist, but I am wondering if there's any way to check if someone hacked into my blog.

Is your blog hosted by a major blog hosting service (blogger, wordpress)? There may be some sort of administrative support contact where they could check activity on your account.

That's about what I figured. Presumably they will at least be able to show the activity in detail. (And who knows -- that might show that I somehow did it myself.)

Maybe you unknowingly violated one of their rules? You said the topic was controversial and maybe one of their mods took it down. I know little about blogging so maybe this doesn't happen.

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

Do you have a separate host for your account or are you using a free account? Free accounts would typically fall under whatever rules that blog (Wordpress, Livejournal, Twitter etc) and could be why the post disappeared.
