Computer Problem

When I shut down my computer for the night, my PC says that it is installing some kind of an upgrade. Funny thing is that when I wake up in the morning I still get the screen that says don't turn off your computer, installing new upgrades now. This will run for several hours. I've run spybot, and my antivirus software. Then it will stop for about a week, and then start up again. I'm guessing that this is not normal. Has anyone heard of anything like this? I haveXP, if that means anything. just wondering if this could damage something. Thanks

It could just be a corrupted update download. Try restoring your computer to about a month ago and see if its goes away.
