As a Law and Order fan, I always liked the Ameritrade commercials myself. They're certainly better than the Scottrade commercials where the CEO has his ego stroked by being in all of them. I'll think twice before opening an Ameritrade account though.

Also, I forgot to mention, I hope the clubhouse chlamydia that is Milton Bradley is prominently featured in the next round of commercials. "I know a lot about desiring trades..."

I read a quote from a fan in the Tribune today that said she hoped the new owner kept the current spending that the Tribune has done in recent years going to keep the tradition going. I guess the tradition of not winning for 100 years is important.

You'd think a company that makes it's money doing low cost stock trades would have more pressing uses of capitol in this economy than to buy a sports team.. But what do I know..

They got money when people bought stocks, and got more when people sold the stocks. Outside of the money they invested themselves, the company makes money no matter which direction the stock market takes.

 

I'm not happy about a new owner jacking up payroll and buying a championship.

Well, hopefully their talk about going all out to win a championship is just that, talk. I hope they end up cutting payroll and sitting on their profits. Only time will tell, though.

I live in omaha and the Rickets family is from Omaha, so everyone thinks that the Iowa Cubs will move to Omaha in the next couple of years....especially since the Omaha Royals do not whan to play in the new 150 million dollar stadium that Omaha is building for the College World series.
