20fry - If you don't mind my asking, what "book" are you referring to? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Each year a new book (well, catalog really) is published that lists every living MLB player - past and present - and their address. Although it sounds kind of stalker-ish, it's designed for autograph collectors.

those books are nice, but they honestly don't help you anymore than a sportscollectors.net account if you ask me...for example, even if you have derek jeter's home address, he isn't going to sign your card ttm, i just prefer having scn, and having access to some addresses, but the successes and failures of everyone, it has already paid for itself from the things i would have sent out but didn't because those players don't sign

It depends who you want to get. I also have a Sportscollectors account, but they don't tell all of the addresses. I put together TTM most of the 1970 Brewers, and am working on the 57 Braves now. Some players have only had a handful of requests via what was posted on SportsCollectors. I only go for higher return rates as I only send OMLB's. Sometimes I send a letter first asking if they are willing to sign.

My best returns are HOFers... Billy Williams, Feller, Sparky Anderson, Dick Williams, Doerr, Fingers, Perry, Kaline, Snider, etc.

My best active player would be Mariano Rivera.
