Travel question

The last few flights I've taken the flight attendants have mentioned GPS systems as the "portable electronics" that could be turned on at 10,000 feet, so I assume as such, but I'd check with the airline.

 

One of my favorite parts about JetBlue and Virgin America is the built-in GPS systems on your screen--pretty addictive to check on

On-board GPS is cool to watch on the headsets. I flew on British Midlands a couple years ago and they actually had three video cameras on the outside of the plane that you could watch on your headset. Watching the nose camera as the plane was landing was sweet.

I wish I'd seen this thread earlier. I just went through security at O'Hare and could have asked someone. If I think of it, I'll ask when I land although I'm guessing the Philadelphia airport is full of dipwads that may not know the answer.
