i think it's more rewarding to come to such a convoluted solution based on very little information. think about where it started and where it ended. i think it's pretty cool that people figured it out simply by asking yes/no questions...

but thats just me

here's another scenario:

a man is found dead in his car. two things of significance are found with the man. they are a map and a card. what happened?

Was the car at his home?

Is the card:

A greeting card?

A business card?

A playing card?

Was the man murdered?

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

let me note that this situation is more similar to the second scenario then the first one. but it is not as far-fetched i guess. but the next one i do will be more like the first one - not as much "out there"

edit: to answer thom's questions:

Could you find this card at Wal-Mart? no

Could you find this map at Wal-Mart? no

Was this a hand-drawn map? yes

I have a special request (if it's too time consuming, I understand).

Menotti, is there anyway you could keep track of the 'yes' answers and include them at the top of your responses, and then bold the new answers, or something like that? Sort of a running log to make it easier to remember what information we have.

e.g.

- Man was found dead with a map and a card.

- Man was murdered

- Map was hand-drawn

- etc.

Just an idea...

Was his 'car' an automobile?

Was he in a train car?

Was he found alone in the car?

Was he driving the car when he died?

Was he murdered?

Was there an physically obvious cause of death?

Was the car found in operable condition? (ie., if you tried starting the car, would it still work without repair?)

Was he run off the road by his murderer?

Was he killed using a weapon?

Was he driving to a destination on the map?

Did the card have writing on it?

edit, more:

Was the map given to him by a loved one?

Was the map directing him to a person?

to an item of value?

Was the map directing him to a person? dont know (see next answer)

to an item of value? dont know --- the end place on the map isn't specific. i wouldn't get hung up on the "final destination" of the map...
