Jenkins and Vargus to SEA for Clement and Mateo?

Jenkins (.795 OPS) is from the state of Washington and might not be in our plans next year anyway takes Ibanez (.701 OPS) spot. Vargus (4.47 ERA 8-2) has high value right now and SEA needs starting pitching. It opens up room for Parra, Gallardo and Villanueva in the rotation.

Gross moves back to MIL in Jenkins roster spot. Sheets off DL in Vargus' spot.

Clement goes to NASHVILLE to catch and moves up to MIL in 08. Lots of arby years ahead. Trade Estrada in the offseason. Clement, the third overall selection of the 2005 draft by the Seattle Mariners, is batting .272 with 26 doubles, 16 home runs and 54 RBI for the Tacoma Rainiers as a catcher (Pacific Coast League-AAA). The left-handed slugger hit .370 in the month of June with eight home runs and 23 RBI. AAA All-Star.

Mateo goes to NASHVILLE bullpen moves up to MIL in 08. Helps shore up certain losses in the bullpen next year. Julio Mateo (AAA) 3W 1L 0.85ERA 22 Games 11 Saves 31.2 IP 2 BB 28 K's 0.79 WHIP.

Jenkins isn't going anywhere....The Brewers organization won't touch Jenkins until after the season is over. I will guarantee 100% that Jenkins stays a Brewer this season.

This lost me somewhere after spelling Vargas' name wrong for the second time. What's up with people thinking we are going to get Jeff Clement, anyway?

I could see Jenks going out west after the season. The Brewers may even be able to work out a deal where they pick up his option and trade him to a team that needs him for a year. However, trading him right now for those kinds of guys isn't gonna happen without a number of other deals also occurring.

Man - I love this site but all the people suggesting we trade Claudio Vargas is driving me up a wall. Baseball is a game of wins and losses and from that aspect, Vargas is one of our team MVPs. He gives the team a chance to win every day and doesnt fold under pressure.

LOL...so you're saying that you wouldn't trade Vargas, a number five starter, and a guy who's not as good as Gallardo, Villanueva or Parra for the BEST catching prospect in the game?

Seriously?
