Awesomeness within, you are warned...

No way!!! It is perhaps the greatest game of all time. I was so obsessed with Mike Tyson's Punch Out that I did not stop playing the game until I went through the entire game without getting punched, an accomplishment that I will never repeat again. Now the obsession can start all over again.

boy, I guess I missed this one when I was younger. Never played Punch Out!

Of course, never had the Nintendo system in it's hey-day. Only after the fact (when Super Nintendo came out) did I get my hands on my cousin's old NES system. Played the heck out of Tecmo Bowl but that was about it.

Call me back when they make the "Punch Out!" movie, though. That could be entertaining.

I wish they would remake Tecmo SuperBowl with current players every year. Wouldn't be hard and they could charge 20 bucks or so.
For a while, there were different ROMs available that did just that. It had the original game engine with updated teams and players. I remember playing the 2003 version with Favre and Ahman Green and such. It was sweet. They also made one with all-time teams. Also sweet.

I can't remember what the website was for download though, and I'm not sure if they still do it.

My friends and I played Techmo Bowl a lot in college. I only played to join in, but I never understood the love for that game.

I've never played Tyson's P-O because I had a Sega, but one glorious day I'll never forget, I got to play Super DodgeBall on the NES, which is still the greatest video game I've ever played.

That's the code to face Tyson, and that is from memory. Sad, huh?

After all these years, I have still never beaten Tyson. I've never even knocked him down.

EDIT: What is that falling from Glass Joe as he hits the mat? Croissants?

I'll agree with those that say Tyson's Punch Out was the best game ever made. I still remember the first time I beat Tyson... I called every one of my friends to brag. Then whenever Genesis came out, I got rid of my NES and always missed Punch Out. But then in college (about 6 years ago, my last year in the dorms) I got a modified XBox, and was able to download every single NES, SNES, Genesis, Atari, Game Boy Advanced, and a few other systems games ever made onto my XBox. And Mike Tyson's Punch Out was the first game I went back to, partially to see if I still had the magic. And sure enough, I beat Tyson the 3rd time I played him and everyone on my floor was amazed. I was surprised at how many people loved Punch Out, but how few people had actually beaten Tyson. Nobody on my entire floor had ever beaten him. And like TracyThom... I remembered Tyson's code like I played it yesterday.

But for me, the hardest guy in the whole game (besides Tyson) is the second Don Flamingo. For some reason he always throws off my timing, and is just a pain in the butt for me!!

My brother is in the business.

They are remaking Tecmo SuperBowl. I am not 100% sure on the players though. He told me, I just forgot. I know the big problem is EA paid 2 gazillion dollars to the players union to be the only authorized game to use player names. EA needs that to maintain their dominance with Madden. So that is a huge hurdle.
