Jeep Grand Cherokee window problem

I have a 2002 Grand Cherokee and the driver side front window, will not go up. I currently have it staying up using a piece of wood. I am guessing the motor is going, all the other windows are fine. Has anyone had any similar problems?

Yup - it was the passenger window, but I had to keep it up with gaffer tape. It cost (wait for it) $500 to fix. Ouch!

Chrysler Dodge Jeep right? 1999 Chrysler Town and Country, the passenger side window will roll down but then will not go up. I have many tricks to get it to go back up, but one time in the summer I could not get the window to go up during a heavy down pour and the inside of my car got soaked.

 

It is a problem that has been around for a long time and Chrysler refuses to do a recall, in fact, after they discovered the problem they continued using the crummy motor that causes the problem. Then we wonder why they are going under.

Jeeptweeter.com sells the parts that always go out on those pretty cheaply. I've had to use them twice for the horrendous dash speakers they put in Grand Cherokees. Looks like that part is $195.

9 times out of 10 it is the window regulator. I'd charge about $110 labor to install and about $185 for the part. So $300 should be the norm if you start price shopping.

The dash speakers in my Grand Cherokee are awful as well. I thought it was just my vehicle, didn't realize it was a widespread issue. Hmmm......

It's incredibly easy to change them. All you need is a plastic spatula to pull the dash panel and a stubby phillips screwdriver or 1/4 drive ratchet set to release the 2 screw on each speaker. I did mine in maybe 20 minutes.
