The Carnival games are a blast. We have Carnival and Carnival Mini Golf. Lots and lots of fun.

I see those things everywhere and I always thought they looked terrible. I might have to try out the mini golf now.

'Nother vote here for Mario Kart. Just before X-Mas, found it packaged with the steering wheel, then we also bought a "pack" of generic Wii tools (steering wheel, tennis rackets, etc), all for the wee little one. She and my nice lady friend are obsessed with it. The second game I bought, right after Sports, was Mario Galaxy, which is tons of fun. Long, and not nearly as challenging as Mario N64 was, but it's fun enough.

Has anyone played MLB 2K8 or 2K9 for Wii? I was hoping to get a baseball game that was a little more "grown-up" than most of what's available for this platform.

I own Power Pros 2008. If you can get over the graphics, the gameplay is really quite good. Plus it's incredibly involved, almost to the point where some of the different gameplay options are confusing. I was going to buy 2K9 tomorrow, but i'm enjoying Power Pros so much and have so much that I still need to even try in the game that i'm going to hold off for quite some time.

Plus, i'm a little leery of how the rosters on the teams will shake out. I don't know if you can actually save updated rosters onto the wii or if you can only access them online. I'm of course assuming that they'll have updated rosters considering that so many prime players were probably unsigned when the game was being produced.

Punch-Out!! for Wii is awesome. I just bought it this evening and already love it. It has all of the charm the NES game did with all of the fun that a Wii generation game can have. You can play it like a traditional game with the Wiimote, you can use the Wiimote and the nunchuck, or you can use the Wiimote, nunchuck, and the Wii fitness board.
