Any word on Kapler?

With the signing of Nixon and Duffy I think it is less likely. I'm a little disappointed since he was such a great bench player for us in 2008, but with the shoulder issue and the fact he may want to go somewhere where he will get more playing time I think it was a one and done for Kapler in Milwaukee.

I don't have the link but remember reading Melvin say something to the effect that he's not pursuing Kapler in part because he wants a LH option off bench instead (this was before signing of Nixon and Duffy). I also recall hearing that Seattle was pursuing Kapler.

This from a recent Brewers mailbag on their website:

What is the word on Gabe Kapler? The latest I've read is that the Red Sox are interested in bringing him back. He was a great fourth outfielder/part-time player for the Brewers last year, and I would love to see him back.

Brewers officials have given no indications they will try to bring back Kapler. I think they would prefer another left-handed bat for that backup outfield spot.
