2008 Brewers DVD (Update: 2011 DVD is a giveaway item at 4/8/12 game)

I've stated several times that Russel Branyan was the key to the Brewers playoff run (Without his hot streak - the Brewers never would have traded for CC) and I don't think he was even mentioned during the entire DVD.

Also, when did it become "Fox Sports Wisconsin" instead of "Fox Sports Network - Wisconsin"?

Totally agree, when Branyan got called up in May and went on that tear that is when the Brewers turned the corner after the Boston Massacre. He should have gotten at least a mention.

Picked mine up today but haven't watched it yet. For those who don't know, the Fan Zone has temporarily moved up a level while they do some remodeling -- use the normal entrance and take the elevator up and you can't miss it. (Maybe that was already mentioned, too lazy to check.) There was a really good crowd there at the store ... great to see ... people choosing not to take part in the recession ... keep $pending, fans!

the dvd could have been improved two ways, one having it be 45 minutes or an hour. editing film like that couldn't be all that hard, and getting Ueck to do a little bit more voice over wouldn't have taken long. we could also focus in on more things, instead i felt like they rushed it, though it was good. two, they coulda put it out in a real dvd box, not just some cardboard case. finding it between teh rest of my dvds will make a bit difficult.

glad i got it, but harvey's wallbangers was done much better. the brewers definately could have put a little more into it and production costs could have stayeed low. i just wonder if the time of that full game would have prohibited more footage. but that was a pretty quick game, under 3 hours if i remember right.

if you didn't get one, you probably arent missing out too much, it's nice to have, but not a must have.

i saw the DVD over the weekend and I agree it could of been made a lot better. I guess I thought it was too heavy on interviews instead of just showing highlights and letting Uecker speak over them. There were alot of memorable games not even mentioned. Also I wish it would of focused more on the final week. I though FSN's season ending wrap up was done much better than this DVD. I wish I would of got it on tape when it was airing all the time.

I know it's probably not right to complain about something that was free, but I will admit that I was also a little disappointed with the video. I really thought that we had a lot of dramatic walkoff wins that were ignored or forgotten. I also think they should have added a lot more dramatic background music to enhance the effect. In fact, I have seen better efforts from fans posting their own tributes on youtube.

I do agree that there were too many interviews and not enough memorable highlights. It also should have been much longer and every player should have been recognized in some way. I really do hope the Brewers make a much nicer version and put it for sale.

Anyway, I do thank the organization for giving us this free copy. They didn't have to do this.

Maybe the Brewers subliminally wished they'd been winning a big game on October 28 as well as September 28.

With our original Christmas Eve plans derailed by the weather, we watched the DVD this evening. I enjoyed it. Given CC's departure in the meantime, I wondered if seeing everyone fawn over him would be bittersweet, but I didn't feel that way. Of course, the best comments came from the Doorman, our own Rickey24. Nice work.

I still marvel at our good fortune to have seen so many of this season's great moments in person. We must have done something right along the way.

We watched the DVD tonight too. I thought it was good, but wished it was longer and had more player interviews. Maybe even showing more of "the mood" at Miller Park (tailgating, etc).

That typo on the title screen is pretty bad. I can't believe no one caught that.

I still have my voucher have not had time though to make the drive to Milwaukee yet.

How would one go about mailing the voucher in and do you think they have any left at this point?

If I were in your shoes, I'd call the Fan Zone and ask. The number on the Brewers' website is 1-888-DUGOUT4. I don't know if that's a generic MLB fan zone number or one specifically for the Brewers' store.

I was at the game where the vouchers were handed out, but never received one myself. Did they ever wind up selling these? If not, does anyone feel like burning a copy for me? Obviously, I would pay - in cash and/or beer. My son was born in 2008, so the season holds a lot of special memories for me.

brewers are giving away 2011 highlight dvd's on easter sunday, looks like family brunch is getting moved to dinner http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif
I have tickets to Friday and Saturday, but not for Sunday's game. I hope they sell them in the team store this year... but I'm guessing they won't.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

If I can find mine, I'd be happy to burn a copy for you (if you haven't had the offer yet).

Ugh...I hate Easter Sunday games. There's no way I can make it to this game with all of the Easter activities going on with my family. I actually have tickets to this game as part of my 10-pack that I'm going to have to sell. If anyone gets an extra copy of the 2011 DVD's I'd gladly take it off your hands. http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/wink.gif

If you have multiple tickets to this game, couldn't you sell them on the condition that the buyer saves one of the DVDs for you?

My extended family has never been big into Easter, for whatever reason, so we're free that day and excited that there will in fact be a 2011 season highlight reel. That seemed like the kind of thing the Brewers would/could have sold in time for Christmas, and when they didn't I started to wonder.

I get the Brewers' strategy in trying to boost attendance on a Sunday that might not otherwise be a full house, but I wish they'd picked a non-STL day for this particular giveaway. Any of their faithful who are into the Cardinals enough to travel to Milwaukee/MP on Easter Sunday probably have their own 2011 highlights DVD (or, I shudder to think, DVD set) already; and although you'd think a fanbase as classy as theirs might include individuals who kindly offer a Brewers fan their unwanted freebies, imagine how much they'll go for on eBay instead.

Anyway - it's hard to imagine that the April 8 game will be the lone opportunity for fans to get these highlights. The Brewers could easily sell copies after that date.
