Non tender possibilities

His UZR/150 was -12.8, -4.3 the last 2 seasons. The problem is that he only really played 3B full time in 2003-2004. He was -14.2 and -4.3 those seasons. He isn't good. Then again Mike Lamb was-17.2 last season so its not like the guy getting most of the playing time right now is good.

Exactly- and if/when Lamb is struggling at the plate as well, his replacement (Gamel) will probably be worse yet. I say go all out for Wigginton.

I thought I'd be more interested in Wigginton, but now I don't know about him, he kinda feasts on LHP, his splits against RH pitching aren't that much better than Lamb's and if his defense is that bad, I'd rather just stick with Lamb/Hall. If Hall is traded to the Yanks, however, I could see how Wiggy would make sense.

But the whole point is that he's better vs. both RHP and LHP than the Lamb/Hall platoon numbers, and is at least as good defensively as Lamb, who as the RHP-hitting part of the platoon will get most of the playing time.

Rotoworld is reporting that the Brewers at least inquired on Daniel Cabrera. Count me as uninterested. We have enough question marks in the rotation already, I think we need a proven commodity. The only thing Cabrera has proven is his crappiness both pitching and hitting. I guess Ben Sheets is Babe Ruth compared to this guy.

Daniel Cabrera would be an interesting Bullpen option - perhaps even a closer. He walks too many people but so have so many closers in the past prior to becoming closers. My opinion is that his pitches and his heat make for a all star potential closer.

If your going to be a team that throws stuff at a wall to see if it sticks, Cabrera is exactly the type of needle in a haystack that I would think you hope to find.
