Yahoo crashing Firefox and Internet Explorer?

Hey all,

I am having huge issues w/ both Firefox and Internet Explorer freezing up pretty frequently. It happens the most when I am leaving Yahoo mail but it also happens at some other websites. My OS is Windows Vista and I know that there have been bugs there. I am also using Trend Micro AntiVirus and Webroot Spy Sweeper. Any ideas?

I have a lot of problems with Yahoo also, I have Windows XP.. occasionally when I "report" the problem to Microsoft a link will appear directing me to the latest "fix" for Yahoo issues, but none of them have really solved the problem yet.

I would try and update Java to the latest edition. My computer use to freeze up after I was done playing Sheepshead on Yahoo, but about a month ago, I installed a new version of Java and it no longer freezes up.

I would also recommend giving a shot to MalwareByte's Anti-malware. I've found it to be one of the better virus/trojan/etc killers out there. Do you have any other symptoms other than internet browsers crashing?

 

Similarly, does it give you any specific errors when it crashes, or does it just bring up a message saying IE needs to close?

I just updated my version of Java...hopefully that helps. I do not get an error message, it just says that it needs to restart. More to come...
