Your 2009 Hall of Fame Ballot

RyDogg66

Hendersen is a lock. I'm for Blyleven, but only as a marginal choice. But I'm adamantly against one-dimensioanl ballplayers like Big Mac--ugh.

I agree with whoever said the Hall is a joke. I really think they need an inner sanctum (Ruth, Cobb, Johnson, etc.) and put the rest of the riff-raff in the regular hall.

There's just too many players in there. I'd also like to see a system that for every two players put in, one would be voted out. I know it will never happen, but with each successive class the Hall loses more and more integrety.

Well, the sport has been around for over 100 years...it's bound to have a lot of people in it. I don't get why so many people think the Hall gets diminished if someone "borderline" gets voted in. It doesn't take away from the accomplishments of people like Ruth, Aaron, Mays, etc. The Baseball Hall of Fame is still the only Hall of Fame that means anything at all.

Really, if you look at the numbers, there are only about 200 MLB players in the Hall. That does not count Negro Leaguers or umpires, announcers, executives, etc. That works out to less than 2 MLB players inducted for each year of MLB's existence. That really does not seem that out of line to me.
